Lily’s glad Billy brought her out to dinner (at Society), forcing her to take a much-needed break from work. Experiencing bloggers-block, Billy’s going to talk to Traci about it – maybe she’ll have an update on Jack (who hasn’t returned his texts) Hearing that Lily plans to go see Devon (and Dom) Billy doesn’t think it a good idea to pressure him about the merger she proposed.

** Huh. Today’s recap looks a lot shorter than usual, leading me to think I may not have hit the pause button before answering the door when Doctor’s Without Borders fundraisers came by. I may have missed a segment in the middle.

At the house, Traci’s call to Jack goes unanswered so she calls Phyllis. No, she’s not with Jack. He’s in his room – it’s been a long day. Yes, we went to Keemo’s house – we found a box of letters he wrote to his Dad.

Jack’s not ‘in his room’ – he’s at Keemo’s, talking aloud as he shuffles through letters. I would have done anything to have healed the rift, if only you gave me a clue you were open to that, he agonizes. Oh God, he leans back on the sofa – that’s the part that hurts the most. We came so close.

While relieved to hear that Keemo’s letters revealed that he’d forgiven his Dad, Traci’s saddened to hear that he was in the States this whole time but didn’t reach out to the family. Wishing whomever sent Jack the text messages had left well enough alone, Traci’s glad Phyllis is taking good care of her brother.

Who are the people in this photo? Jack only recognizes Mai. Who could have sent the text messages that brought him here? It’s enough to know that Keemo had forgiven him. This is all the information I’m going to get – so it’ll have to be enough.

Billy doesn’t think Lily should pressure Devon – he wants to focus on Dom right now. Lily thinks her brother was thrown off by the scale of her proposal. Billy suggests that Devon likes his role at Hamilton Winters and doesn’t want to share it – not even with you. That said, he loves Lily’s idea and hopes it works out exactly the way she envisions it.

At the penthouse, neither Lily or Devon can soothe Dominic. Maybe he’s teething? Devon makes a call to Dr Austin – it’s very serious.

Phyllis is now with Jack at Keemo’s house. She’ll do some research if he wants her to. Are you happy you came here? Jack’s shocked she’d even have to ask that. Your investigating is the only reason I’m here – he’s grateful he came if only to read Keemo’s letters. Thank you for making this happen. No need – overstepping is who I am, Phyllis quips.

Lily comes home to ask Billy how things went with Traci. Good – Jack and Phyllis found some letters Keemo wrote to his Dad; Traci recommended some meditation courses that help when she has writers’ block. Lily’s visit with Devon went better than she could have hoped – he was the one to bring up the merger. They both know Neil would love them working together. Before she goes to bed, Billy has something to talk to Lily about.

Not a huge deal, but Billy’s feeling guilty; he wasn’t completely honest with Lily at Society when discussing her idea for a joint project with Hamilton Winters. He thinks the concept a good one but is embarrassed to admit that he’s not objective. Where will I fit in? You might not need me to be your COO. Appreciating Billy’s honesty, Lily reassures that no matter what happens with Chancellor, Billy will always be her right hand man ~kiss~

Jack’s beat – we won’t get any more done tonight. If the texter was going to reply, he would have done so already. Jack pauses before following Phyllis out – Keemo lived here but I know nothing about his life. Did he have friends over – was he alone or lonely? He was a short plane ride away from extended family. I didn’t have a clue; I didn’t know him, Jack stifles sobs. Now I’ll never know. My own son. My own son. Phyllis wraps her arms around him.
