Vikki joins Ashland at the office to comment that he was up and out early. She’s there to tie up some loose ends before Adam takes over. His mood pensive, Ashland’s beginning to have second thoughts.

At Newman Media, Victor asks Adam if there’s any evidence of Ashland carrying out his plan. No, Adam sees no indication that Ashland’s put files on his computer. What exactly happens when I’m arrested for framing Ashland? Adam has a son to worry about. Do you honestly believe this is the smartest move to make??

Meanwhile, at CL’s, Sharon’s concerned about Mariah and Tessa getting married on Friday the 13th. A 70’s glam theme in a movie theater will be a lot of work to pull off. On and on she complains to Nick.

Ashland’s having second thoughts about canceling their trip to Tuscany. He knows their plan is the best way to prove Adam’s the one setting him up but hates the toll it’s taking on Vikki. Is there something else you want to tell me? she probes.

Wedding planning is put aside when Nick confides to Sharon that Vikki shared her plan with the family. He won’t share it with Sharon but suffice it to say that Vikki’s plan makes her complicit – she’ll be crossing a line Nick’s not comfortable with.

Ashland feels guilty that Vikki’s giving up everything to stand by him. He’s confident they can pull off their plan but are we going about this the right way? Ashland got into Adam’s computer but didn’t find anything incriminating. We just need to dig deeper, Vikki never said it’d be easy. Ashland doesn’t like behaving like the lowlife criminal he once was and doesn’t want to jeopardize the love they share.

Adam doesn’t see anything wrong with questioning Vikki’s plan (since it revolves around me!) Ashland’s taken the bait, Victor spells out the plan – they plant evidence against Ashland on Adam’s computer. We catch him red-handed and then he’ll be out.

Adam’s tired of being the black sheep; always having to prove himself a team player. It was his idea to improve on Vikki’s plan; stepping in as CEO, then Victor pretends to fire him when Ashland plants and finds the evidence. The plan has flaws. It hinges upon Ashland planting fake evidence (which he didn’t do when given the opportunity) He might know I gave him access to my computer. Victor has it all figured out – once Locke’s gone, Adam will resume his role at Newman Media, Vikki will be reinstated at NE. This is a chess game and Victor’s very good at chess.

Are we about to cross a line to protect our love – that will only destroy that love? Ashland worries. We’ll have to fabricate and plant evidence to prove Adam’s the one setting me up. He can’t ask Vikki to be part of a scheme to defraud; the same thing your family is accusing me of doing. Unless you’re keeping something from me, you’ve never been part of anything like this, he wonders Why is Vikki willing to do this.
