At the house, the morning after, Nick’s done a great job of organizing CL’s staff and the kids (Noah and Faith) Sharon comes down to announce that SHE will be the one to make funeral arrangements for Rey.

Chelsea picks up her phone to call Rey when Adam delivers the rest of the news; Rey died in the accident. Chelsea’s devastated – have you told Connor yet?
Back at Newman, Vikki blames herself for the accident that killed Rey. How do you know I wasn’t responsible? she snaps at her well-meaning Mom.
Victor wants to know why Ashland hasn’t honoured their agreement. Ashland has – he’s removed himself from the company and his marriage. Victor then demands details of the accident.
Victor doesn’t want to hear Ashland’s romantic nonsense – keep it for your diary. He only wants details about the accident. Ashland managed to lose the guys Victor had following him then drove back to NE in time to follow Vikki when she left.
Vikki doesn’t remember much about the accident. Nikki hopes the investigation results will help ease her guilt.
Ashland explains that Rey was driving erratically, maybe swerving to avoid something on the road. When he came into Vikki’s lane, she swerved and hit a tree. Rey’s car then slammed into his and flipped over. Ashland then relays how he heroically saved Vikki’s life.
Ashland risked his life to save mine, Vikki concludes her story.

Nikki can only thank God (and even Ashland) that Vikki’s alive.
