Diane feels for Ashland but won’t jeopardize her fragile relationship with her own son to help him. The answer is ‘no’, she hurries off towards Harrison.

Adam knows that Sally means well but he’s sick of being made to feel ‘less than’ his siblings. You have a brilliant business mind, don’t give in to your anger and take yourself out of the running. I was never IN the running, it’s never enough – I’m done. Victor appears – is that really how you feel son?

Nikki’s ecstatic to find Nick and Vikki working together. Wait til your Father finds out.

After Sally kindly shows herself out, Victor encourages Adam to stay on at Newman Media (now even bigger since merging with ChanceCom) Implement all your good ideas. Vikki’s been told to treat him with respect. Why would she when you don’t? Adam pouts. If you walk away from this it’ll break your Father’s heart, Victor leaves with tears in his eyes.

Today’s episode of The Grinning Soul is about a power-monger; a true story from a highly placed source – the rise and fall of The Locke Ness Monster. He’s not attacking a man with a dreaded disease – no one needs to feel sorry for Ashland Locke – he doesn’t have cancer – the whole thing was a scam.

Victor’s with the rest of the family – this makes me very happy. When Nikki suggests inviting Adam up, she’s told that he no longer wants to be part of Newman Media. Vikki offers to talk to him. No, he doesn’t want to be part of the family business, he expands. As for Sally, the group should replace her with someone with more experience and a less colourful history.

Sally joins Adam at Society’s bar to ask how it went with Victor. I told him I was tired of being used. He thinks is should be grateful to have a place to land at Newman Media. I quit. Sally thinks she should quit too – before she’s fired. She’ll have his back and will land on her feet, like she always does.

Diane’s thrilled that Mike’s invited her to join him at CL’s. She prattles on about Harrison. Mike’s curious – do the Abbotts let you take him out unsupervised? If she did encounter Ashland, Diane would take Harrison home immediately. That’s not what Mike wants her to do.

To our new COO, the four Newmans toast. This makes me very happy, Victor mumbles again. The beginning of a new era. Cheers. To the man who started it all – Dad. Cheers again.

Adam warns Sally that what comes next at Newman won’t be business as usual. Ashland might be launching an attack. Watch your back – things are about to get ugly.

If you were to accidentally slip up and let Ashland see Harrison, he’d violate the restraining order and go to jail, Mike explains – the Newmans would appreciate your cooperation and might drop the investigation into your past. Diane won’t risk everything she’s trying to accomplish. Ashland is here – he asked to see Harrison as you predicted. I did what I told you I’d do. You missed your chance – it’s too late.

Returning to his suite in a huff, Ashland’s livid that he can’t even say hello to his own son. He receives a link from Stannis; The Grinning Soul. What fresh hell is this?!
