Upset that her questions will never be answered, Summer doesn’t want to talk about the disgusting Jeremy Stark. I have to go! I’ll call you. ‘What’s up with her’? Jack asks. Kyle wishes he knew.

Tell me something – do you think Vikki can relax outside of work? Nikki asks. When ‘kisses up’ to his great boss, she leaves Vikki to announce that she’s going to LA to see about some streaming platforms. Yes, it falls under Newman Media’s purview so Nate should come along.

Daniel? Is it you? Are you the one who … ? In the park, Summer’s stunned – what are you doing here? Daniel comes here a lot to clear his head.

Mike plays a message Phyllis left for him. That woman just attacked me and threatened to kill me! I’m actually afraid of that crazy bitch. She sounds terrified but that’s not the Phyllis who goaded Diane into a fight. Oh, and here’s a letter found during the search of Jack’s house. Diane insists she’s never seen this handwritten note from Phyllis. You’re accusing Phyllis of being an accomplice in her own murder? Mike’s in disbelief.

Sharon’s impressed – the food in the jazz lounge is the same as the dining room, just smaller portions. Chance agrees but thinks the company is ‘outstanding’. Uh oh – when duty calls, he leaves Sharon to smile into her wine glass.

Back in the park, Daniel encourages Summer to open up. He’s shocked to hear that their new stepdad is dead. Nobody’s telling her anything, she’s pissed. Hey, I love you, Daniel leaves his sister to look around as if she’s expecting someone.

Diane tells Mike that Phyllis was in Jack’s house before the gala – she could have been part of Jeremy’s plan. Maybe her death was an accident; a revenge plot gone wrong.

IF Adam accepts Victor’s offer to run McCall, he wants full autonomy. In your dreams, son, Victor laughs. Think of the legacy for your sons and daughter. I’ll let you know, Adam gets up and leaves.

Nate isn’t sure it’s wise if he joins Vikki on this business trip. Yes, he’s hesitating because of the other night. Yes, he’s capable of self-control – LA it is.

Kyle and Jack wonder what Stark’s death means for Diane’s case – does she know? Does Mike know?

Needing to find out the truth from Jeremy, Diane wants Mike to find him. He’s disappeared? Find him – he’s the key to everything! Seconds after Diane’s taken back to her cell, Kyle calls Mike to update that Stark’s dead.

Huffing and puffing in the park, Summer soon gasping in shock – as one would when their dead mother shows up looking very much alive and happy to see her.

My Thoughts: Who the hell do Diane and Jack think they are? I assume Mike’s being paid handsomely by the ungrateful, unappreciative pair for taking this case over his wife’s strong objection. I don’t really care why Mike would risk his marriage for Diane – I’m just glad to see the Baldwins onscreen. That said, why does Mike look like he’s been roughed up in the alley outside Jimmy’s Bar? Did he roll around in the paperwork before nicely assembling it in his manilla folder? … I’ve watched enough Law and Order to know that if Mike’s a material witness in the case against Diane, it would be a conflict of interest for him to represent her … Poor Sharon doesn’t get out of the coffee shop much so doesn’t realize that the jazz lounge probably only serves tapas. The small table she and Chance are seated at should have been a hint that the plates and portions would be small too … Poor Lily – who could have expected that the GCAC would rise from the ashes to replace The Grand Phoenix shortly after she purchased it? …. Daniel’s right – Summer is being a giant pain in the ass. Nobody’s telling her anything? She was one of the first to learn that Stark’s dead. What else is there for her to know? … It doesn’t appear as if Summer’s dreaming and given the stupidity of this storyline, I guess everyone will just shrug and say ‘well, you know that crazy Phyllis – she’s always up to shenanigans’ …. Victor tells Adam that he’s to start at McCall tomorrow. Oh yeah? Where exactly is he to report to? The company isn’t headquartered in GC and there’s no indication that Tucker even had an office – anywhere, I’m guessing Adam will have one and that Sally and Chloe will get some work at least (and they’ll apparently be the only employees on the company’s payroll) … Mike shouldn’t sound so shocked that Phyllis would be an accomplice in her own murder – that’s exactly what Diane did.
