Nikki brings Claire Grace into the CEO’s office for Victor’s approval/welcome. Claire looks forward to learning from the best and couldn’t have hoped for better.

In Sally’s suite, Nick’s too distracted by ‘the’ kiss to pay attention to her prattling on about the business he’s backing.

Vikki can’t fold her arms or roll her eyes hard enough as Adam plays the dutiful assistant. We’re both giving you the benefit of the doubt, Nate claims. After Adam leaves Society, Vikki hopes Nate’s not falling for his con.

Nick questions the timing of Sally’s sudden shift to falling in love with him. Yes, she knows she can be honest – Adam got to me, she admits – you know how relentless he is. Nick does – but could Adam push your buttons if you didn’t still love him?

Back in Nikki’s new office, Claire gushes about meeting the intimidating Victor Newman. When Audra comes in to discuss an acquisition, Nikki invites Claire to weigh in (then is impressed with her ‘astute’ input). Thanking Claire for the insight, Audra closes the door firmly – leaving Nikki and her new protege to look pleased with themselves.

When Claire mentions her Great Aunt a couple of times, call-me-Nikki knows she’s a demanding boss, tough but fair. Confiding that she too lost her parents at a young age, Nikki takes the hint that Claire would rather talk about the future than the past.

Sally would rather talk about her relationship/future with Nick than her past with Adam – she feels affection and empathy for her friend because of their shared loss but I’m falling in love with you, please believe me.

Nate’s just as skeptical as Vikki – but we need to lull Adam into a false sense of security so we can knock him down when he shows his hand. OK, Vikki will try – the bigger issue is her father.

Vikki said she’d go along with what her father wanted – for now. It’s harder than she thought to be patient. Nate doesn’t want to argue – but we agreed to bide our time. Vikki feels isolated. Nate IS on her side – I support you 100%. I’m just trying to protect you.

Sally’s feelings are real – and for Nick to just dismiss them … He doesn’t want her to feel trapped – if you need time, take it. He can’t go through this again. What are you saying? Sally asks.
