Back at Society, Chelsea and Adam butt heads. She understands why Nick only wants to get Matt off the street. He’ll take care of this.
Her feelings hurt, Patty thought Matt called her because he needed a friend – or did you just want to meet the monster Phyllis told you I was? I’ve hurt people and been in psychiatric facilities, she admits – but, I’m just like the people who fear me; no better, no worse. Matt feels a kinship with Patty – like we’re the same person.
Assured that Phyllis has Matt somewhere close, Nick calls Chris to arrange a meeting. Ending the call, he boasts ‘my father’s not the only person who delivers on his promises’. Do NOT screw me over. Phyllis wants her freedom and company – then Nick gets Matt Clark.
Matt tells Patty that he’s got a feeling in his gut that he’s done bad things too – things so bad he can’t make amends for.
Adam vows they’ll get the company AND Matt. Victor will make sure it goes the way he wants it to. Nick’s not thinking straight. He’s still using, he confides in Chelsea.
Nick’s chugging water at the club’s bar when Chris joins him. What would it take to get the charges against Phyllis dropped? he asks.
Sharon catches Phyllis acting suspicious at CL’s. Ester told me you got two coffees earlier. One was for Matt – you’re using him for leverage; exploiting him for your own personal gain, she accuses. Exhausted by her fear, Sharon asks Phyllis to ‘please, do the right thing’.
This has nothing to do with Daniel or Summer and No, my Dad doesn’t know, Nick admits. HE’s the victim, Chris must prosecute Cane and Phyllis. Nick doesn’t care about Cane but wants the charges against Phyllis dropped. Chris needs a helluva good reason. What’s Nick offering? Matt Clark.
Patty doesn’t think Matt should go to the Newmans. Frustrated, he has no idea if he’s married, if he has family – or do I have nothing? Patty agrees that he needs answers – but don’t trust Phyllis. Matt can’t live like this!
