Relieved to hear that the charges against Cane have been dropped, Lily asks about the other plan Cane had in mind. If it’s sketchy, she may have second thoughts about hiring him.
Still at the cafe, Malcolm suggests that the jacket Holden’s wearing might be a sign that he’ll work at Winters. Holden’s not sure Devon or Nate would go for that. Malcolm will put in a good word for him IF he’ll wear a Yankees hat.
What was this ‘unhealthy’ plan you had? Lily continues to get stonewalled but is pleased when Cane accepts her job offer. Cheers, they clink glasses.
Nick’s seeing what everyone else is with Matt – and he did save my life. His actions were ‘heroic’, Victor will never forget it. He got Nick hooked on drugs, Adam points out. This is a good way to find out if Matt can be trusted, Victor concludes.
My Thoughts: How is it that Holden’s been able to ‘float’ so long without any income/job? Perhaps Cane will hire him at Chancellor … Does Noah’s club have a name, or will it forever be known as ‘GC’s Shadow Room’? … OK, so, let me get this straight; Matt’s assignment is to watch Cane 24/7 and report everything he’s doing to Victor – who also has his security watching Matt 24/7 to report everything he’s doing. Wouldn’t it be easier to just cut out the middleman (in this case Matt) and just have one of Victor’s security guards befriend Cane and report back? Why not use someone who’s already vetted and proven their loyalty to Victor. Also, Victor’s going after Cane because he hurt the family – but ignores what Matt did to the family and calls him ‘heroic’!? And what are Nick’s ‘reservations’ about? Oh, I dunno – maybe that Sharon will be living on the same property as her rapist!? Has Victor thought of that? Maybe Matt should just move into the apartment above CL’s?? … Just the other day, Nick threatened to charge Phyllis with ‘harbouring a fugitive’ because she ‘put Matt up in a hotel’. Isn’t Victor harbouring a fugitive by putting Matt up in an apartment on the Newman compound? Not only is it a stupid plan, it’s completely disregarding Sharon’s emotional wellbeing. Victor’s now manipulating/bullying TWO mentally unstable, dangerous people by CHOOSING to keep Matt and Patty in town. Will he go for the trifecta and enlist Mariah’s help when she’s released?
