Phyllis’ instinct is to harp on her kids until they forgive her. If you still see your actions as ‘just business’, you have no hope of earning their trust, Sharon warns. Phyllis admits her new friend is right. Remember when I saved your life? Yes, remember when I saved yours?

Nikki sits to tell Victor about the meeting she and Nick went to – then asks how he could give Chancellor to Lily without even talking to her. Very simple – I did, Victor’s unapologetic.

What happened to you being the voice of reason? Victoria scolds Adam. I’m ‘a’ voice – I don’t make the calls – Dad wants Matt to be our eyes and ears with Cane. Yes, you can trust me, Matt ‘thinks’ he knows what he’s supposed to do. On cue, Cane appears to greet Adam and Victoria by name.

On the patio, Phyllis sends Summer a lengthy message – she’s given the company back to Victor. Can you find it in your heart to come home for a bit to talk? If you still think of GC as your Mom; and you still think of me as your Mom.

Adam introduces Matt to Cane (who’s been summoned so they can ‘clear the air’) The charges have been dropped but Cane’s still salty about being arrested in front of his staff and customers – and his company being decimated. He suspects there’s more to this meeting – why is ‘this guy’ here? What kind of trap are you trying to set now?

Nikki doesn’t accept Victor’s ‘fake’ apology – you wanted to hurt me. Giving away the company I love is saying ‘go to hell’. You chose your friendship with Jack over your husband, Victor scowls. OMG – Nikki puts it together – that’s why Lily went along with your plan. Your hatred of Jack will always mean more to you than I do, she suddenly grabs her head, in pain.

Are you alright? Is this related to your MS? It’s just a headache, Nikki rejects Victor’s ‘fake concern’. From now on, let’s just talk about the kids and pretend we get along. Feeling another stab of pain, she attributes it to stress, caused by everything Victor’s put her through.

You OK? Sharon comes out to ask. No, but Phyllis will get there – ‘we’ will get there’, she blinks back tears.

Matt’s a friend of the family who might be doing some work for us, Adam and Victoria claim. These people are ‘a wily bunch’, Cane warns. Matt appreciates the Newmans hospitality – but is also impressed by the ‘genius’ formerly known as Aristotle Dumas (despite what the ‘grumpy’ Newmans think)

Finding Victor’s concern ironic considering he’s the cause of her stress, Nikki balks at being told to go upstairs and call her doctor. ‘As if anything you say now is important, after everything you’ve done’. Struggling to exit, her vision blurs as she slowly walks up the stairs.

‘Fan-girling’ over Cane, Matt disapproves of the hit pieces Newman Media put out on him. The coverage was garbage, Cane agrees. Continuing to gush over him, Matt wants to go for a drink with Cane. Maybe, but no, not right now, he leaves Matt to say – how’d I do? OK – but you came on a little strong. On cue, Victor calls Adam for an update.

Sharon and Phyllis are ‘always around’ for one another and both hope Mariah comes home. They give one another an emotional hug.

Next Week: Lily and Cane agree they can do great things together. Come closer – Cane wants to tell her something (but it looks more like he wants a kiss) … You’re looking so tired, Patty comments. My wife is missing. Is she still your wife? Jack tells her to cut the crap – where IS she??? … Diane’s in a strange (though nicely decorated) room. Hello? Is anybody here?
