Oh good, you’re up – you look better than when you arrived, the ‘doctor’ doesn’t seem alarmed to come home to find Diane brandishing a letter opener.Who the hell are you? Diane demands answers.

Move away from the door so I can get out of here, Diane orders. The situation isn’t that simple, the man claims.

Does this have to do with this Dr Markham? He recommended someone (and a clinic) to help Diane. Where!? Jack threatens to call the police.

Diane puts the letter opener down – she thought she needed to protect herself. This is my private residence, the dr will decide where she goes next.

You don’t want to involve the police, that would be bad for Diane, Patty sits to tell Jack that HE’s responsible for Diane’s breakdown – fix us a drink and listen to what I have to say.

You don’t remember anything, do you? You had a breakdown. Diane wants to leave. The doctor takes the letter opener – he’s going to make some tea. What the hell’s happening? Diane’s left to panic.

Patty brings a drink for her and Jack – it’ll take the edge off. Jack admits she has insight into what he’s feeling. If you me what happened to Diane I’ll never have to bring it up again? How long will Diane’s recovery take? It could take years, Patty’s sorry but she’ll never return to you.

Shall we? The man returns with a tray of tea. Diane refuses. I have no ill intentions, the man assures. He found Diane screaming in a country road. He did call the police – and her husband – he was the one who asked me to bring you here. He blames himself and said ‘do whatever you have to to make her better’. Diane’s not buying it – but looks confused when asked what she remembers.

The last time Jack saw Diane she wasn’t anywhere close to a breakdown. She was supressing her feelings, Patty knows he’s frustrated but Diane’s fate is in your hands. You need to choose ME – you and I will be together. You don’t want anything to happen to Diane, do you?

The doctor found Diane ‘inconsolable’ – you suffered a breakdown due to denial of your feelings. It sounds serious – you should get me to a facility, Diane wants to leave – NOW.

You can’t force me into a relationship, this is insane, Jack says. No, it’s what the universe intended – you never loved Diane. We can recapture the magic we had on the yacht, she clutches Jack’s face and giggles like the mad-woman she is.
