Victor agrees to visit Nick first thing in the morning. He’ll need a good sponsor, Nikki comments. Are you referring to Jack Abbott????

Diane wants to go away – just the two of us. Jack loves her and the idea – but needs to be there for Nick. Diane pouts – is doing a favour for Nikki is more important than spending time alone with me?

Nate tells Stephanie his origin story (cleaning a high school friends’ wound after they had a motorcycle accident) He’s glad their paths crossed – it feels fortuitous. After a few brief/awkward silences with Nate, Stephanie scurries off when Devon gets off the elevator.

Victor updates Nikki that Jack dropped by to say he wants to be Nick’s sponsor (at her request) Nick trusts him; Jack’s been through this, Nikki points out. Victor will NOT allow it.

Jack’s commitment is a favour to Nick not Nikki. Diane admits she’s worried that he’ll risk his sobriety – again. Nick will be in rehab for a while, Jack agrees. You think I should accept Lily’s offer and let the chips fall where they may?

Victoria will handle her father. Yes or no? she presses Kyle. You’d be working with me, not Audra and I’m ‘pure joy’. She’s sure Jack will see the value in this plan. Agreeing to consider the deal, Kyle shakes Victoria’s hand – as Claire arrives at the cafe.

Looks like the two of you have found common ground – is this about Nick? Claire asks. No – we were discussing a joint venture between Newman and Jabot, Victoria will leave Kyle to fill Claire in.

I didn’t bring up Jack, YOU did, Nikki credits him with saving her life. Give me a break, he nearly killed you, Victor argues. You told me your love for me was greater than your hatred for Jack – you need to let him save our son! Nikki implores.

Diane understands why Lily came to Jack, but this is between her and Billy. Let him deal with it. Tell her to take the offer to Billy directly. Jack doesn’t want to see Billy driving off a cliff but agrees he needs to handle this on his own. Can we pack our bags?? Diane asks.

Running into Stephanie at CL’s, Lily gives her credit for Nate’s pending return to medicine. And now I’ve been abandoned to run the family business by myself.

At Nate’s, Devon was surprised to see Stephanie leaving. She’s wicked smart. Yes, Nate admires her. There to discuss this Chancellor situation, Devon doesn’t like the sound of Lily having a plan – and worries how far she’s willing to go to keep the company.

No, Nate doesn’t know Lily’s plan. No, Nate doesn’t think she should fight this; Lily should focus on running Winters. Blaming himself for Nate’s injury, Devon really wants this for him.

Lily’s happy that Devon and Nate are pursuing their passions. Are you feeling ‘abandoned’ by Holden? Stephanie asks. Lily’s pleased to report that Holden’s fully committed to her side – you raised a good man.

Victor doesn’t want to get the same call about Nick that he got about Nikki. Nick’s getting better without Jack’s involvement. When Victoria arrives, both her parents make their pitch to her – do you think Jack should be Nick’s sponsor?
