Lily’s at the club, flashing back to hugging Cane and giving him a kiss on the cheek when he appears with a latte that’s ‘all the best flavours’ (a fave when the twins were young) Hearing that she’s going to NY for Malcolm’s surgery, Cane asks if they can fly out together.
In her office, Phyllis paces as she talks on the phone. Just say ‘the case has no merit – see you in court’, she instructs her head of PR. Billy arrives to ask if the emails are legit and how stupid is she for letting this happen??
It’s just a plane ride, Cane offers to hold Lily’s hand so she doesn’t ‘spiral’. OK, she agrees – but don’t make a thing of it. They’re discussing whether he’s charming or delusional when Chris and her officer arrive to arrest Cane (complete with handcuffs)
Claire wouldn’t impose by inviting herself to NY. Holden wouldn’t mind the company – we are still friends after all.
Billy didn’t send any emails. Neither did Phyllis – they were faked, by Victor.
You really had to do this in front of my guests and employees? Cane asks why he’s being arrested. Chris accuses him of conspiring with Phyllis to infiltrate NE; money was transferred, signatures were forged etc. Victor’s up to something, Cane tells Lily. This arrest can’t happen, she appeals to Chris.
After talking in circles about whether Holden invited Claire to go to NY or not, she declares him lucky to have met her (since she can relate to what he’s going through) Damn lucky, he grins.
Back at Summers Conglomerate, Phyllis believes Chris will try to ‘bury’ her. Hoping she wins, Billy can’t go down for this. You won’t, Phyllis assures – there’s nothing to implicate you. Has Chris got to Cane yet? he wonders.
This can’t be happening! Lily frets. Lead to the revolving door in handcuffs, Cane denies he’s a flight risk. You won’t be able to leave the state, Chris doubts. As they leave, Nate arrives. Lily quickly explains that Cane’s a match – what do we do????
Explaining that Katie finally came around, Claire knows exactly how Holden feels. Yes, he’s scared Lily might feel forced to accept him as her brother. When he again invites her to NY, Claire teases ‘you’re relentless’.
