Billy joins his fiance and Mom at the cafe. Passive aggressive remarks out of the way, Jill (and Sally) ask if Jack’s OK.

At the club, Chris remembers full well what her former sister in law is like – and how much Diane loves her husband and son. Patty tried to kill Jack before because she chose Diane over her, Mike continues. Chris had to lay charges – she likes Diane, but our friend’s situation doesn’t look good.

Waiting while Jack has a CT scan, Kyle’s arranged for a guard to be posted outside Dad’s room. Diane won’t let her son blame himself. You saved me – you’re the reason we got to Jack in time. Patty set me up perfectly – all the evidence points to me.

Billy provides an update on Jack then reverts to passive-aggressiveness. Your old buddy, Victor, was probably responsible for getting Patty released, he tells Jill.

Diane and Kyle are both pissed about the attempted murder charge – thanks to Patty and Markham’s statements. The only one who can tell Chris that Patty stabbed him is Jack.

Mike asks Chris to acknowledge the convenience of Patty claiming that Diane tried to kill Jack. The evidence points to Diane but Mike points out that the burden of proof is on Chris.

Billy orders food sandwiches for Diane and Kyle. Jill won’t defend Victor and suggests Billy focuses on his blessings. Patty won’t get away with it, they agree. Billy wants to hear what Sally and Jill were talking about. You, Jill replies.

Having all the evidence she needs to take this to court, Chris tells Mike that the burden of proving Diane’s innocence is on him (which she hopes he does) The people in this town can be a pain in the ass, lawyer and DA agree. Patty needs to be locked up for good, Mike concludes.

Kyle talks Diane into going home for a bit. As soon as the coast is clear, Patty appears wearing a nurse’s uniform.

Deciding to ignore the ‘digs’ Jill asks Billy what his plans are with Spectra Charles. None, Sally and Audra are killing it. The next topic is Cane’s ‘genuine’ job offer. Jill’s surprised Billy’s considering it. If you can’t work under Sally and Audra how will you work under Cane? Billy accuses her of being more obsessed with Chancellor then he is.

Chris announces that her staff have started investigating why Patty was released – her doctor claims she wasn’t a danger to herself or others. Mike isn’t sure Markham’s dealing with a full deck himself – he held Diane hostage. When Lauren arrives, Chris leaves Mike to tell his wife that Diane’s situation is ‘beyond bad’.

Diane isn’t sure she can ever go in the dining room again. Kyle talks about the love and resilience that make this place more than a house – but a home. They hug and worry about Jack.
