At the office, Victor understands Phyllis lashing out. And Mom? She’s not thinking clearly. But Nick is, he warned Vikki to stay away from her Dad. Victor’s not surprised; Nick’s stabbed him in the back before. There’s no evidence. But you told me you did it, Vikki reminds. Yes, Victor told her because he trusts her.

Jack’s not sleeping – he slipped back into a coma, the doctor reduces Phyllis to tears – all we can do is wait. They’re wrong, Phyllis is left to call Paul – there IS proof. Jack woke up and ID’d Victor. Paul still doesn’t think there enough evidence – no one saw Victor shoot Jack. Adam arrives on cue to disagree. Someone did see Victor shoot Jack; me.

Ben’s sorry. Ashley just doesn’t want to see Abby hurt any more. And yes, she feels Ben could hurt her. Yes, this is awkward (though Ashley just wants Abby to be happy) Ben wants Ashley to be happy, and is alarmed when she almost faints.

In the suite, Noah continues to charm Marisa (who doesn’t clarify where she heard about GC) Noah takes her hands – they weren’t meant for manual labour. You’d be surprised by what these hands have done, Marisa pouts. Noah then invites her to go watch fireworks (to truly get a feel for GC) She’d like to know the city – someone told her it’s a wonderful place.

Phyllis sniffles at Jack’s bedside, regretting wasting the precious moments he was awake. She’ll make Victor pay for what he’s done. We’ll both make him pay Red, for the months he kept us apart. You knew I was back – we DID connect. The connection is still there. Feel the message I’m sending you. Shocked, Phyllis lifts her head off Jack’s chest as if he spoke aloud.

Back at NE, Victor reminds that he shot Jack in self defence. Vikki believes him but the police might not. And Gabe might talk to the police. Victor doesn’t think so – he got everything he wanted. Not quite, Adam walks in – he’s now the man in charge. Vikki makes it clear that she knows all about the blackmail. Adam scoffs at the way Victor treats his children. But you’re not his son, Vikki sneers. Thank God for that, Victor says. Adam couldn’t imagine anything worse. Abby arrives to ask questions – followed by Paul with a warrant for Victor’s arrest. Adam looks smug.

You have no grounds to arrest him, Vikki balks. Paul has an eye witness – Mr Bingham gave a sworn statement. Victor announces that Mr Bingham wants control but needs him out of the way. Yes, his story changed, maybe his conscious got the better of him, Paul says. I couldn’t protect you anymore, Adam adds (as Victor’s arrested)

Seated on the couch, Ben fusses over Ashley (who doesn’t need to go to the hospital) She lashes out, then apologizing, blames it on the feud and Jack’s shooting. Ben has thick skin, he can take it. Ashley’s sorry she’s acting like a jealous, vindictive bitch. I’m becoming a horrible person. I’m not that person, she weeps on Ben’s shoulder.

Lounging on a blanket, the Ashby’s, Devon and Hilary are having a delightful evening at the park. Devon’s surprised Lily invited them (she hasn’t answered his texts all week) No, Lily didn’t tell the twins that Hilary’s a cheating tramp. We all make mistakes – we don’t mean to hurt the ones we love. She hopes they can all get past it. As Devon hugs his sister, Cane declares it a 4th of July miracle.

Bumping into Chelsea (with Connor) at the park, Noah introduces her to Marisa (THE Chelsea Lawson!? As they chit chat, Gabe comes along. Have you met Noah’s friend? Chelsea introduces Marisa. Nice to meet you Gabe, Marisa smiles (as Adam squirms)

Good to meet you Meerisa, Adam mispronounces her name. After they part ways, Chelsea asks about Noah moving on so quickly – like she did with Billy after Adam died. But then, it brought her to Gabe so it’s all good. Gabe? Why so distracted? It’s not work – everything’s under control at the office, he assures.

In Paul’s office, Victor (lawyer at his side) gets Paul to agree not to prosecute Vikki for lying. Also at the station, Vikki and Abby are griping about Gabe. Vikki bends the truth as she assures her sister that no way Dad would shoot Jack in cold blood.

Yes, Victor shot Jack – in self defense. He’d been threatening my family. Victor hired bodyguards after Jack pulled a gun on him at the office. He was a danger. The Jack Victor shot is not the Jack Paul knows. The collapse changed him. We agreed to merge our companies – then he wanted it all, accused me of embezzlement. When that didn’t work he threatened my family. Victor didn’t want Nikki to meet Jack at the park – they argued. Victor got to his gun quicker than Jack. He heard sirens and took off. Paul has one problem with Victor’s story – Jack didn’t have a gun on him when you shot him.

Abby and Vikki are alarmed when Victor comes out in handcuffs. Everything will be alright. You can’t do this, Vikki whines to Paul. Victor kisses both daughters on the cheek and tells them not to worry. It’ll be OK. Vikki promises Abby – Dad knows what he’s doing ¬hug¬
