Are you suggesting that Victor would lie to serve his own interests? Paul jokes. Chris has a strong case without Victor and plans to prove Adam guilty. Dylan arrives to agree it looks that way. The investigation’s been done by the book and he’s been unable to prove Adam’s innocence or Victor’s guilt. Chris reminds Nikki that she’s been enabling Victor since before Adam was born.

Jack tells Summer that the Adam he knows isn’t a murderer – but framing him IS something Victor would do – ask Nick and Vikki. You’re taking Adam’s side against Grandpa? Summer frowns. Nick’s leaving it up to the jury. As they file inside, Adam’s pleased to see Jack and appreciates his support. Arriving next, Victor exchanges a few unpleasant words with Jack. Connor in her arms, Chelsea arrives to scowl at Victor.

Chelsea slings harsh words as Victor’s lead off by the guard. It was worth a shot, she tells Mike. As Kevin takes Connor over to his sitter, Mike and Chelsea enter the courtroom. Chris delivers her opening statement. Meredith slips in to take a seat. Mike goes next to claim that someone diabolical is involved in this so-called murder; Victor Newman. Chris has Dylan list the evidence. The poison matched that found in Constance’s body. Mike asks Dylan whether he believes Adam killed Constance. Did you quietly investigate? he rephrases. It seemed that pieces were missing, Dylan admits. Do you believe Adam’s guilty or innocent? Dylan’s job is to gather evidence, it’s the jury’s job to decide.

Mariah lectures Sharon for going off her meds – do you want to end up back in Fairview? That’s where you belong, Sage snarls. And as Sharon tells Sage that she’s the only Mother Sully has, Mariah looks to her right – OMG – you’re not just having nightmares about Sage. You’re seeing her! Don’t you see how far this has gone? You have to do something NOW!

On the stand, Nick’s given Sage’s journal. Chris has him say he wasn’t shocked to read that Adam had murdered Constance. Mike has Nick admit that it was easier to think Adam guilty than his Father defiling his wife’s memory. No, Nick’s not here to see that Adam’s found guilty, he’s here because his Father will do anything to destroy his brother’s life (and the rest of the family) If anyone can frame Adam it’s Victor. Chris stands to object – then rests her case. Mike then calls Ian to the stand. This jury deserves to know the truth, he announces (as Adam looks nervous)

Sharon thinks it ridiculous that she’s seeing Sage (who sits and watches) This isn’t like when she thought she was seeing Cassie. Your conscience is keeping Sage alive! Mariah earns Sage’s approval. And when Sharon shouts that she loves her kids, Sage gets in her face to say she doesn’t know what love is etc. etc. Shut up! Sharon grabs a book end and swings at Sage. But it’s Mariah who lays unconscious on the floor.
