Tuesday, July 3rd

Hilary wraps up the show with talk of the baby she’ll have this time next year and a God Bless America. The smile vanishes when Tessa comes along to update that the mayor won’t be coming.

Ester gripes about Jack to Cane and Lily – Jill’s beside herself; she loved Philip. Cane vows to use whatever means necessary to safeguard the Chancellor estate from Jack.

Hilary pastes on a smile as she struggles to fill the remaining few minutes of her show. Tessa comes to her rescue by singing the national anthem. The Ashby’s, Abby and Arturo, Ester, Billy and Phyllis all join in then applaud.

Arturo and Abby exchange a few words with Billy and Phyllis as they exit the dance floor (not concerned about missing the fireworks) Motivated by Ester, Hilary gives Tessa an apology and a thank you – then ticks her off by mentioning her sister. Shawna reappears to thank Hilary for showing her that she too can have the American Dream ~hug~ Cane and Lily are thrilled that the kids left their party to come hang out with their parents again. And as all ooh and ah over fireworks on the rooftop, Arturo and Abby are getting hot n heavy in a suite.

Next: Jack resorts to extreme measures … Billy takes a new gamble … New information emerges about JT.

My Thoughts: What an odd place for Hilary to set up her ‘stage’. How is the bartender supposed to get in and out of the bar without walking in front of the camera (or knocking Hilary’s chair over)? Why would GC’s esteemed Mayor appear on Hilary’s lame ass show? And why would Hilary’s lame ass viewers care about what the Mayor has to say? … Riding your horse naked into a restaurant isn’t ‘breaking convention’ Abby, it’s breaking several laws and health violations. The next time she wonders why she’s not a respected businesswoman, she should refer back to her vapid answer on why July 4th is special to her … Let’s talk fashion for a moment; Lily wins best dressed. Her nautical inspired dress fit her to at T. On the other end of the spectrum, Phyllis managed to look positively dowdy in a shapeless and oversized outfit that hid, rather than flattered, her figure … I guess Abby and Arturo were going for an adult film vibe because that mouth breathing display sure wasn’t romance. They manage to be uncomfortable to watch due to a complete lack of chemistry and/or lackluster acting; I’m not sure which but they certainly fall short of Nick and Phyllis’ infamous shower scene… Arturo shouldn’t be too impressed by Abby throwing around big words like ‘stratas’ because that’s not really word. Strata is the singular word – the plural is ‘stratum’.
