Watching in horror, as her Father drinks, Lily gestures to the bartender. Joining Neil at the bar, she tries to take his glass. Neil won’t be stopped – you gonna throw your own Father out? he drinks – as Lily frowns at him.
In his office, Paul catches Chris sneaking chocolate. As they laugh and kiss, Nikki bursts in – to say that she believes Phyllis innocent. The evidence says otherwise, Chris sneers, NOT impressed that Paul welcomes Nikki’s input.
On the patio, Abby doesn’t believe her cousin Kyle guilty of anything. But Kevin, Mariah and Noah just can’t believe him period – and that’s why they had the bloody towel tested.
At Summer’s, Kyle continues to comfort the grieving widow; encouraging her to find some photos of Austin on her laptop; where she comes upon a video (Hey my beautiful wife, Austin smiles.)
Nikki thinks Phyllis has changed. Chris doesn’t – is she blackmailing you?! Paul encourages Nikki to continue. She has no fondness for Phyllis, but believes she’s a changed person (because she insisted Nikki be saved from Underground first) Chris huffs and puffs, Paul referees – and Nikki wants the charges dropped.
Don’t do this again, Lily reminds her Father what happened ‘last time’. Think about Moses. His Mama’s taking good care of him, Neil’s sure. Asked how things are with Cane, Lily admits he slept in the guest room. Neil doesn’t care if Lily dumps that guy. Well look what the cat dragged in – the billionaire – the man I used to call my son – the man who drove me to this point.
The movie is of Austin and Summer; kissing and laughing. The gang arrives (Fen’s gone back to school) And as the next video begins to play, Marian notes Abby’s reaction (as she tries to shut it down) The video cuts to another segment; It’s 3:15 Valentine’s Day. I haven’t seen this one! But Summer MUST watch it (my husband made this for me the day he died!) Abby looks tense.
All watch as Austin talks about giving Summer an apology. Huh? For what? she wonders aloud. You’ve been telling me I haven’t been myself lately – there’s something you need to know… I don’t like myself…. Summer then bursts into the background – start packing for the cabin. Austin ends the recording – leaving all to wonder why he was so depressed. Why couldn’t he apologize in person? Summer wonders. Abby suddenly remembers something she has to do – and runs out. Kevin pulls Mariah aside – what was that look between you and Abby?
You’re not an officer of the court; hardly qualified to have any say, Chris is pissed. Paul reminds that Nikki has nothing to gain. Unlike me!? You think I’m not objective!? After Nikki escapes, Chris snarls at Paul – how could you do this to me?!
Devon wants to talk in private. Oh privacy? Like you had with my wife? Neil doesn’t agree with Lily (that Hilary’s to blame) If she can’t forgive Cane, why should he forgive Devon for doing something far worse? Wrestling the bottle away, Lily marches off. Devon apologizes – but nothing he says means anything to Neil – YOU don’t mean anything to me. You. Are. Not. My. Son.
Grabbing another bottle, Neil rejects Devon’s apology. There IS no way Devon can make this right. But you can make it a little better – take a drink. Devon does so. Now go to a liquor store – buy an expensive bottle – keep drinking until that bottle is all gone – buy another and keep drinking until you’re s a drunk, just like your old man. My gift to you can become your gift to me! Nikki arrives to watch the tense scene.
Kyle has to leave too ~hug~ As Noah and Summer go to make coffee, Mariah tells Kevin that Austin wasn’t depressed – he was feeling guilty. About what? The video suddenly plays again; it’s Abby on the CL’s patio. Summer and Noah return. Why did Austin video my Aunt Abby? Noah knows why.
At CL’s, Abby flashes back to that night at the cabin with Austin; making love on the floor before the fireplace. I can’t believe we did that. Summer’s my niece – I love her. Austin feels guilty too. ‘It’s a one time thing’ they agree (then do it again)
Noah reminds Summer that Austin was working on a documentary; corporate titans and how they got to the top. Summer feels like an awful wife for forgetting Austin’s ‘passion’, Kevin gets a text; got towel blood results.
Seated inside CL’s, Abby looks onto the patio, flashing back to Austin joining her to say he wants out of his marriage. No, Abby tells Austin that it’s over. But he can’t go back to Summer, she doesn’t get me the way you do. Forget this meaningless fling – make yourself worthy of her. Realtime, Abby wipes away a tear as Kyle joins her to guess she’s thinking about Austin.
Chris blasts Paul for insinuating she can’t remain professional IN FRONT OF NIKKI. Is it wrong to put criminals behind bars?! Paul wants to charge the right person with the crime – the evidence against Phyllis is circumstantial. Chris is angry – this IS about us, our marriage, and your undying loyalty to NIKKI!!
At the bar, Nikki can see that it’s hit the fan – so did hers (the family knows about her drinking and want her to go back to meetings. Knowing what SHE wants, Neil slides the bottle over.
In the office, Lily wonders how Devon expected Dad to react (but concedes it’s also the booze talking) Devon can’t believe that Hilary was playing him. I want to hate her. You think that bitch will come crawling back to you!?
Nikki slides the bottle back to Neil – I’m gong to a meeting, then Austin’s memorial. Neil offers condolences, declines going to an AA meeting, but accepts a drive home.
Just you and me now kiddo, Noah’s still with Summer; who feels like Austin will come home any minute. She has no idea what he’s talking about in these videos. She can’t go to the memorial.
Kyle knows about Abby’s affair with Austin. He found ‘evidence’ at the cabin so stayed in town to follow them around. I saw you two – what the hell were you thinking? What will you do with this information? Abby asks.
Kevin meets Mariah in an interrogation room. The blood on the towel wasn’t Austin’s; he lied.
How can Abby sit through Austin’s memorial knowing she’s the one who ended his life? I can’t do it! Oh alright – Summer can get though it knowing that Noah and Kyle are there; two people who know what she did. Hugging Summer, Noah frowns at the laptop (on which Abby preens for the camera, on the patio – Kyle in the background, spying on her and Austin)
Kyle’s torn up about the whole thing. Abby’s glad he didn’t tell anyone about her horrible mistake. But Kyle did tell someone – he confronted Austin. It got physical. OMG – you did it! You killed Austin (Kyle looks worried)
Forget Hilary – let’s focus on Dad (you know, the guy drinking his face off downstairs) Yes, Lily still cares about Devon, but can’t forgive him for what he did. We’ll never be as close as we were, she leaves Devon in tears.
Nikki driving him home, Neil suddenly squints through the window. Hey – you’re not taking me home, you’re taking me to an AA meeting!
Chris is pissed off that Paul takes Nikki’s word as gospel – his devotion is more extreme since finding out about Dylan. Paul will NOT turn his back on him and Nikki. But you used to trust MY instincts! If you don’t have faith in me, I don’t know what kind of marriage we have! Chris flies out on her broom – as Paul sputters; you’re blowing this out of proportion.
Hell no! Neil’s NOT going to a meeting. Pull over! Unable to open the door, he grabs the wheel. About to get into her car, Chris is illuminated by headlights. The sound of screeching tires ends with a thud.

(Neil’s struggling to get out of the passenger seat) … At GCM, an emotional Paul lashes out at Victor – You don’t give a damn about anyone! Victor’s puzzled – What are you talking about? Looks like this’ll be the second time Christine’s run over and I don’t care. Paul is annoying; so blatantly worshiping and giving Nikki and Dylan preferential treatment. He should have politely listened to Nikki, then filed her opinion under ‘who gives a rats’ ass’. She has no idea whether Phyllis poisoned Kelly. Also, how reliable is her recollection of being rescued. She was drunk. So, the question is, will Nikki take the rap for mowing down Chris? And if Neil remembers, which he should, will he let Nikki take the fall for him? Of course, Nikki didn’t deliberately hit Chris, but she shouldn’t have kidnapped Neil under the guise of taking him home. Did she plan to drag her belligerent passenger into the AA meeting? If she paid attention at all, she’d know that an alcoholic can’t be forced into sobriety. They must want help and come willingly – must want help. That said, if Neil didn’t want someone to stop him, his son’s club (that his daughter manages) probably isn’t the best choice of drinking hole… Lily stresses the need to focus on Dad – while she and Devon sit UPstairs – and Neil’s downstairs – drinking … It’s hard to feel sorry for Neil when he’s feeling so sorry for himself .. How would Paul know what pregnant women craved? he bailed on April and Isabella’s baby was thought to be Mike’s for most of her pregnancy. Spoilers indicate that Nikki will be arrested for yet another murder (though it’s hard to believe LLB is leaving the show for good) … Hippocracy, thy name is Abby; all the times she accused someone of being a homewrecker; Ben, Kelly, Mariah – then she has a fling with her niece’s husband. What a prize Austin was; good riddance – married to a rich, young, beautiful woman and he’s cheating on her within a year?! With her Aunt!? Why would Abby be featured in a documentary a bout business moguls and how they made it to the top? We all know how Abby made it to the top; she’s an Abbott and a Newman – who’s working for her MOM! …. Kevin’s pal in forensics isn’t all that discreet – did the text really have to include the words ‘bloody towel’? It’s not like Kevin’s having anything else tested on the sly … Is Hilary still Jack’s assistant? Neither have mentioned her job since well before Valentine’s Day. Since they were both in the same hospital, you’d think they’d have touched base; canceled a few appointments. If Hilary’s fired (which’ll open up another can of worms – because her being a lying, cheating skank doesn’t mean she’s not good at her job) will Devon hire her on at the club? He can make her Lily’s boss. That’d go over well..You can’t see being as close to Devon as you were Lily? Bet he can’t see you getting a raise come review time. .. Weird that Kyle refers to Austin as someone Summer ‘once loved’. I’m sure it’s a bit early for her to consider her love for him past tense. He hasn’t even been buried yet! …
