Kevin wonders if Jack was in a conspiracy and his cohort got the upper hand. Scoffing, Mariah goes to chat with Sharon (who thinks highly of her friend Jack) Mariah again apologizes for ‘testing’ her Mom. Sharon will always forgive her baby – families care. Aside, all watch as an officer goes through footage on Dylan’s laptop. Too bad there’s no witnesses. But there is a witness, Sharon volunteers – me.
Sharon heard a loud pop last night but thought it was a car backfiring. They pin point the time and locate it on the footage – two people outside appear to have hear it too. As the officer attempts to go back 15 minutes, the program freezes. Kevin steps in. Nine minutes before the gunshot, they spot Jack hurrying past. Now let’s see if someone followed him.
Marco discourages Marisa from checking on Jack. He didn’t like the clean life too much – these people are scum who hide behind charities and companies. Come to paradise. These people will stab you in the back. At least he’ll look her in the eye if he does – he never pretended with her. We’re different – not like these people. Jack Abbott and his wife will turn on you. Your choice – stay where you don’t fit in, or fly away with me to where you belong.
Back at GCM, Phyllis thinks Paul on the right track with Victor. Ashley, Kyle, Summer and Billy race in. Victor’s next – to tell Billy Boy that he’s there out of concern for Jack. Defending her Grandpa, Summer brings up the Abbott’s framing him. It was a computer glitch – we’re so sorry (Ashley’s lie is supported by Adam) It was a terrible mistake. Paul’s told he can drop THOSE charges against Victor. But the Chief has other questions for him (like where was he tonight?)
In the lounge, Neil guesses that Nikki’s tempted to drink. Nikki admits that it’s not just Jack being shot that’s upset her – Victor shot him.
Nikki tells Neil that Jack asked to meet her in the park – Victor went instead. She knows he shot Jack. What to do? Tell Paul what you know. But what will that do to the kids? What will it do to YOU? Neil asks (drink) Nikki knows it’s the right thing to do, but God help me – how do I betray the love of my life?? she weeps.
At Jack’s bedside, Phyllis knows being a coma is easy – waiting for a love one to wake up is the hard part. She didn’t come back to Jack to lose him. Wake up.
Still in the hallway, Victor tells Paul that he had dinner with Vikki. Yes, she was with her Dad when Billy called to say Jack had been shot. Nikki whispers to Neil – I can’t implicate my daughter in a lie. Thanks for coming. I know what I have to do.
Mariah looks forward to having a little brother and sister. She loves Noah and Faith, but she inherited them. She’ll get a clean slate with this baby. Oh yes – another ~hug~
Going over the footage, Kevin, Dylan and Noah are puzzled. Less than 4 minutes later, Jack walks by again??? That makes no sense.
Marisa could tell the difference between Marco and Jack – when she kissed him. She also knows that Marco enjoyed tricking Jack’s wife and family. Hey – we’re not going to the airport – where are we going?? Marisa knows she’s to be killed.
You don’t have to do this! Jack knows the truth to. Then he can’t survive either, Marco decides. Marisa makes a frantic grab for the wheel.
After Ashley leaves, and Billy and Vikki go for coffee, Summer’s left to apologize to Kyle – she’s sorry she went to Paul with what he told her. All that trouble and it was a computer error. Sometimes Kyle already feels he’s lost his Dad. Hopefully when he wakes up he’ll be the Dad he used to be.
