What has Avery done? Sent Dylan in for questioning without any coaching. Sharon knows how vicious Sherman can be. Avery’s sure the lawsuit won’t go anywhere. She also knows what Avery’s going through – and that she’s not acting like herself. Dylan needs you in his life. Avery’s not buying this concern. Stop dragging Dylan into your mess (Sharon’s concern vanishes) Finally, a real answer. Sharon worries about Dylan getting arrested. He won’t be the one who gets hurt, Avery assures as she exits.

At the station, Dylan’s unapologetic – and rants about everything Joe’s done to Avery; he tried to blackmail her into having sex. Did you ask Avery about Joe beating her up while they were married??? Shut up! Joe stands. Or what? It’s a lot easier with a frightened woman isn’t it? Dylan taunts him.

When Neil returns with a huge bruise on his face, Nikki wishes she hadn’t sent him. Victor assaulted you – what happens now? He won’t be able to hurt anyone else for a long time, Neil’s sure.

Paul scolds Victor – what the hell were you thinking? Facing attempted murder charges and you hit Neil!? Perhaps Paul doesn’t know his old friend Victor. Mike could say the same thing – you’re making my job more difficult. Victor just needs to get out of here. Not so easy – and assaulting Neil didn’t help. Victor doesn’t want to be here – get me the hell out of here. Mike’s trying. Try harder – Nikki needs me; I can’t lose her.

Dylan tells Sherman to stop wasting time – you should be working on Joe’s defense. Following Dylan, they pair exchange more words. Paul’s interrupted by Nikki – she wants to see her husband. Taking blame for what happened to Neil, Nikki asks again – please can I see him? (he should know why I’m staying away)

Back at the club, Neil briefly explains what happened with Victor. Lily needs her family – Devon hopes Neil can put his issues aside so they can all help her. He then catches Cane (and Lauren, who leaves them to talk) Devon relays that Lily feels terrible – she made a mistake. Cane’s first mistake was covering for him and Hilary. Lily comes alone – please don’t blame Devon. Cane blames Lily – you’ve broken my heart.

Walking through the park after dark, Avery pauses to flash back; it was this very spot just a few nights ago that Joe grabbed her arm.

Dylan returns to CL’s to update Sharon. She relays talking to Avery – and no longer wants him to keep an eye on Avery. I want you to stay far away from her. Huh?? Sharon knows the signs – Avery’s going to cause trouble; for you, me and our baby.

Outside the station, Lauren tells Mike that Cane’s so angry at Lily – she shares the guilt. You put everything in motion, but I kissed Cane. Lauren can’t bear to watch what they’d done to the Ashby’s – she’s going to visit Fen in Arizona. Before she goes, Mike has to tell her something.

Yes, Nikki was in the hospital – she almost died. What brought it on? You did. Nikki drank to make it all go away – she had an MS episode and thanks to Neil, ended up at GCM instead of the morgue. If you ever loved me … You know I love you. Then let me go, Nikki implores.

Victor denies he’d shoot Jack, or anyone, in cold blood. The man Jack Abbott became was a threat to me and my family. Nikki thinks it ridiculous; Jack would never hurt me or our children. Victor thought Jack capable of hurting Nikki that night. Look where I am. Victor can survive this but you can’t leave me. You must not leave me. I can’t survive this without you. Nikki looks torn.

Mike admits Lauren was right – he feared not being the man he used to be. Pushing Lauren away hurt her and a lot of other people. And now Mike’s not the man he used to be. It wan’t the cancer that did it – it was me. Mike was right about one thing; he’s nothing without Lauren. He’s not sure she can ever forgive him. He understands if not – and he may not be able to forgive himself.
