Poor Nick, Billy comments to Vikki that they both know what it’s like to lose a child – go be with your brother. I love you so much, Vikki hugs him.

As Sage sleeps in a hospital bed, Nick talks – he’s been through this and should know the right words to say – if only it were that easy.
Lily nags Cane to see a doctor – then we can go home. But I don’t live there, he reminds. Lily’s had a change of heart – come home. Cane doesn’t want to confuse the twins. He can’t pretend everything’s OK – I can’t be with you if you don’t trust me. As Cane exits, Joe watches Lily.
Chelsea accosts Chris – Adam didn’t run – he deserves credit. Now you’re trying to deny him medical attention. When Chris feels the prison doctors are capable, Chelsea lists the people who’d be dead if not for Adam – don’t you have an ounce of humanity??
As Jack, Phyllis and Billy listen, Chelsea and Chris argue about Adam. A jury of his peers convicted him, Chris points out. But he came back here knowing he’d miss ten years of his son’s life – he risked his life to save people, Chelsea argues – now you’re shipping him back to prison after a quick ‘once over’. You know that’s not right. Chris looks torn. That leaves Jack to mope over not being able to save Patty. She attacked me tonight – she’s not well, Phyllis wants him to let it go. But she seemed lucid, Jack reminds – she came to warn Dylan about something.
Paul’s at Fairview reaming out Dr Anderson – his sister left her care and died in a fire tonight. Dr A explains that a sympathetic orderly (now fired) helped Patty escape. Why was Patty so determined to see Dylan? Paul wonders – and no, she didn’t start the fire. She’s loving – she was here to get help. Get a good lawyer – you’re gonna need one – this isn’t over! Paul leaves Dr A looking nervous.
In Ben’s room. Ashley tells Abby not to blame herself. And Ben wouldn’t die on them after …. After what? … After everything we went through (Ashley flashes back to Ben’s declaration of love) What did you talk about? Abby asks. You, Ashley lies.
Ashley elaborates on her lie – the only thing on Ben’s mind was Abby – oh how happy you made him. He shared his hopes and dreams for the two of you. Abby’s happy they were there for each other. She feels Ben will come through this because he knows what’s waiting for him.
Joe again sniffs around Lily – he saw Cane leave. Yes, and Lily blames herself.
As Adam’s lead out in handcuffs, Dr Shelby tells Chris that Adam’s been given pain meds. Thanks, but that won’t be necessary, Chris’s decided that Adam won’t be transported tonight.
