By going to Scott, Nikki explains that she was trying to protect the family from Victor’s mistakes. We always reconcile – what’s the matter with you? Victor seems genuinely clueless. Nikki won’t cave this time and doesn’t want Victor watching her perform. Her name is Tessa –
Nikki’s not surprised that Victor can’t remember. Victor won’t let Nikki embarrass him or the Newman name.

At CL’s, Tessa’s on the phone – you won’t believe how these people live. I’ll be able to take care of things, finally. It’ll be OK, I promise, she hangs up when Noah strolls in.

Back at Jabot, Ashley’s surprised that a GC based company would want to buy Mergeron. Was Dina responsive to Neil’s offer? She’s not the tycoon you think she is – her husband did all the work. Do you really want to work with someone like that?

I’m the one who’d sully the Newman name? Nikki’s indignant – what would the world think if they knew you brought a mentally ill woman to town to frame your son for murder? The company is all you care about. I found you in a strip joint! Victor bellows – he won’t allow anyone to sully the Newman name, not even Nikki herself! Out he slams.

Scott wonders if Abby’s pissed that she paraded around naked or that people haven’t forgotten. His chapter of Abby was actually going to be flattering – he’s not the one who showed his bits and pieces to the world. Maybe you have no bits and pieces to show, Abby stands. Classy, Scott chuckles as she storms out.

Inside the coffee house, Tessa and Noah agree that Nikki did well onstage. She seems so tense, Tessa wants to help her. You did – Noah shows her a photo he took on his phone – then notes that Tessa’s wearing the same outfit she wore last night.

Ashley owes her Mother nothing and wants nothing from her. Jack arrives at the office and is also surprised to hear that Hamilton Winters is pursuing Mergeron.

No, Neil hasn’t heard from Dina (who they met on Devon’s jet) If she accepts, we’ll fly back to Paris and sign the deal. While Ashley’s negative, Jack appreciates that Neil will let him know if the deal goes through. Good luck with Hamilton Winters, he shakes Neil’s hand. Jack and Ashley are left to wonder what Dina’s up to and how many lives she’ll screw up this time.

Now alone at the penthouse, Devon checks that the door’s locked then makes a call to his Dad – I need you to get over here right away.

Tessa tells Noah that she was so tired she slept in her car and didn’t have time to change. Yes, she’s still enjoying working for Nikki; the best boss she ever had. She didn’t even fire me for screwing up seating for a benefit. Noah knows that the woman’s shelter is important to his grandma – she’d cover any lost donations. And no, Tessa hasn’t forgotten about their date.

Gracie brings some puzzling paperwork to Victor’s office. He doesn’t remember a transfer to Prudent Success; a cashier check with no invoice number – maybe it was a real estate transaction? Only knowing that the transaction was put through while Victor was out of town, Gracie leaves. And Abby arrives – her smile fading when Victor asks if she knows what this is about.

Hilary’s behind the desk already – what happened to Mariah’s fashion statement? You’re the boss, Mariah removes her jacket to reveal a dress that Hilary recognizes. Oh, silly me, Mariah rips the tags off. Hilary fumbles for words then recovers to launch right into celebrity blind gossip. This is really juicy. Which wealthy bachelor is making his rounds in GC? His so-called romance is for show – he can’t get over his ex. And which sad, pitiful girl is he using? Hilary asks pointedly. Mariah’s smile vanishes.

As Abby looks at the paperwork, Victor adds that the transaction occurred while she was acting CEO. Abby laughs it off – it’s money coming in. Maybe no one wants to owe Victor Newman. Giving her Dad a kiss, Abby escapes the office – leaving Victor still puzzled.

Still at the office, Jack insists he doesn’t care that Dina’s selling her company. Giving the newly formed Hamilton Winters the time of day indicate she has an ulterior motive, Ashley’s convinced. If our Mother’s talking to Neil it’s about US (not business) Jack thinks Dina’s just looking for the best deal. She’s still our Mother (Jack doesn’t seem to share Ashley’s hatred; which astonishes her)
