Abby asks Scott how he feels about her. He says it is purely chemistry, but nothing else. Besides, Abby just got out of a tough relationship, is she really prepared to explore new people? On the other hand, Scott really wants things to work out with Sharon, which means she can not find out about Abby. Abby excuses Scott when she receives a call from Ashley, asking her to secretly come to Jabot.

The nurse brings Sam back and Cane offers him to Lily to hold. She begins to cry while holding him and has to leave, while Hilary looks on.

Abby, Billy, Lauren and Traci join Ashley at Jabot headquarters for the emergency meeting. The topic in discussion is Jack’s inability to hand over complete authority to Ashley in his absence. For example, Jack ruined the Cartwright deal, and most recently he tried to sponsor The Hilary Hour, without her consent. Ashley argues that Jack’s personal life is causing him to not think straight, beginning with the termination of his marriage. Billy intervenes and adds that Jack’s personal life does not need to be rehashed, while Ashley believes it is necessary. Ashley continues on listing Jack’s series of irrational decisions such as his attack on Billy, and inviting Brash & Sass to work in their building, as well as encouraging Lauren to drop Brash & Sassy from her stores as a market test.

Ashley proposes that Jabot needs only one C.E.O, her. She asks that the board gives her complete authority. Her proposition is interrupted by Jack, who walks in all suited up. Jack notifies the group that it was Gloria who briefed him, showing more loyalty than his own family. Confronted by Jack, Ashley is fearless in telling Jack exactly what everyone knows is true. The board executives (minus Kyle, who was not invited) are excused, leaving Jack and Ashley to talk. Ashley says to Jack “If our father were alive, he’d be appalled.” Jack interjects by informing Ashley that he is his father, not hers. Ashley’s strength perishes and all she can muster is “Very classy.” Ashley tries to bring the discussion back to business, reminding Jack it was a business vote, and that he is less similar to John Abbott than she is, labeling him as the “seat-filler.” Jack says he is trying to do the right thing, which shocks Ashley as he’s the one who let Victor take over the company, leading to their father’s heart attack. Jack turns it around by saying she took advantage of Dina’s illness, using it to advance her standing in the company. Jack kicks Ashley out of his office, reminding her that Jabot will be sponsoring The Hilary Hour.

Cane offers Sam to Hilary to hold, but she declines, too nervous. He teases her until she concedes and thus, she gets over her fear.

Ashley tries to get Abby and Billy on board to support her against Jack, but the two agree that everyone should be united, for Dina’s sake.

Jack admits to Traci that he wishes he could take back the things he said. Traci reminds him its never too late. Anyways, Jack has to bring his mother home. In the reception room, Gloria nor Dina are to be found.

Hilary reminds Cane that Lily will come around however he doesn’t think that’s the case.

Over a drink, Lily confides in Abby that she wishes she was happy while she held Sam. What is causing you to drink, Abby? The Abbott civil war or the incomprehensibility of men? Who knows? It’s complicated.

Phyllis tries to defend Jack, while Billy sides with Ashley. The two agree to not drag themselves into an argument.

Traci, Jack and Ashley search for their mother. Gloria returns with Dina shortly thereafter, who is holding test tubes that contain “company secrets.” Dina claims “the spy [Gloria]” is trying to obtain these test tubes. Ashley apologizes to her mother that Jack felt the need to bring her to Jabot. Jack finally gives up on trying to maintain a certain quality of life for his Mother while micro-managing Jabot so he leaves it up to Ashley to watch over their mother as he leaves town for work.
