Mariah and Tessa are in opposite ends of the office as Hilary and Devon bicker. She wants a corner office with a view of the city to create ideas. Devon explains that’s not how things work at HWG. Fine – Hilary will put her things right here. That’s my work area, Tessa politely objects. Not anymore, Hilary informs ‘Sweetie’.

At home, JT pulls out the guitar he barely plays anymore. Reed’s grudgingly impressed to hear that his Dad once had a record deal; back before wannabe musicians could post their music online. When Reed talks about taking more lessons with Tessa, JT approves – it sounds like she’s been through a lot.

Phyllis drops by the penthouse to ask Chelsea if she knows an Alexandra West. No, but Chelsea will go through her contacts – sounds like someone got greedy. And careless, Phyllis adds. Looking guilty and worried, Chelsea opens up her laptop.

Now it’s Reed’s turn to impress his Dad with his guitar playing. Soon Father and son are happily strumming away.

Chelsea’s now going through a folder of paperwork and can’t find Alexandra West – it’s a dead end. Phyllis is sure JT will find her. Chelsea hopes so – she’ll put the fear of God into this woman. Equally determined, Phyllis will keep Chelsea updated (and leaves)

With some more harsh words for Devon, Hilary storms out. I’ve created a monster, Devon sighs then leaves for a meeting. Welcome to my work life – our work life I guess, Mariah’s left to commiserate with Tessa.

Now at the club, Arturo suspects that ‘call me Nikki’ is buttering him up; which is a waste of time. He can’t lower his price. He’s not the one doing charity work. When he threatens to smear the Newman name, negotiations go back and forth until they settle at 10% above the original quote. Yes, I am a ‘tough one’, Nikki agrees with a coy smile.

Mariah thinks it must be weird for Tessa to be doing office work. Tessa’s just grateful to have a job. They discuss the chemistry and animosity between Devon and Hilary, then the song Mariah admits she listened to yesterday. OUR song, Tessa corrects. Devon returns – then Hilary (still making demands) When she again storms out, Devon asks Tessa to cancel his next meeting and hurries out too.

JT now working his magic on his laptop, Reed’s again impressed – you’re writing code? No, something cooler; JT’s tracking cyber-criminals.
