Seated at the club, Devon assures Simone that Hilary having his baby won’t affect their relationship. Simone wants him to bond with his baby. Devon thinks he and Simone have plenty of time (before the baby comes) to see where their relationship goes – we’ll work it out.
The doctor comes back to Hilary with some disappointing news – you’re not pregnant. I’m not? Hilary’s stunned.
Nick and Billy discuss the four women getting along so well – maybe we should get together with Jack and Victor. Gotta give the ladies props for putting their differences aside. Billy lets Abby in (in time to see Sharon stepping up the tension with her new BFF’s) Next time they have a ‘killer’ party, Abby wants in.
Back at the ranch, Victor wants to go over the budget for ‘New Hope’. Arturo didn’t know he was so involved. When Nikki’s passionate about something, Victor IS involved. Arturo hopes he’s OK with him and Nikki spending time together. Going over the numbers, Victor wonders if Arturo’s providing Nikki with some services he doesn’t know about.
Hilary’s told that she had a ‘chemical pregnancy’ – the egg is fertilized but didn’t take; that’s what caused the false-positive. You can conceive again in the future. There’s no baby? Hilary tears up knowing that Devon will think she made it up to end his relationship.
As Billy assures Reed that it’s not stupid that he expects his Dad to walk in the door, Sharon’s distracted by memories of telling Phyllis that they should go to Paul – for Reed’s sake.
Seated at the club, Dina gushes that she just loves this place. Kyle loves it when Dina says his name – what is it? he prods. Dina gets upset – it won’t come to me. What’s wrong with me? Nothing, Kyle assures – he just wants to get to know Dina better. She’s so glad this darling man is in her life.
Sharon worries to Reed that she gave him bad advice (causing him to leave) She’s sorry he’s going through this. Uh, thanks, Reed’s mildly puzzled – it’s nothing to do with Sharon. He’s then surprised to see Mattie.
Hilary approaches Devon and Simone’s table – can we talk? Privately? Is it about your pregnancy? Devon insists Hilary speak in front of Simone or go. Fine, Hilary just came from her OB-Gyn. No, there’s nothing Devon should know. Hilary pauses at the bottom of the stairs to cry.
Having a private chat, Reed thanks Mattie for being a good friend – he shouldn’t have driven drunk. Mattie regrets going to court. Reed admires her and is going to turn his life around and come back to prove he’s not a loser. I’ll miss you. I’ll miss you too ~hug~ Watching them, Nick assures Vikki that Reed will be OK – but something’s wrong with Sharon (who’s staring at the fireplace and flashing back to Nikki killing JT) Telling Nick that she has to leave, Sharon escapes quickly, leaving Phyllis and Nikki to quietly worry that she’ll have them all in matching jumpsuits if she keeps it up.
Still at the ranch, Arturo doesn’t need to look at the figures – he’s been a contractor for a while and is good at what he does. Victor doesn’t want Nikki to be taken advantage of. Sometimes she uses bad judgement. We through? Arturo asks. For now, Victor’s left alone to ponder.
