Your plan backfired, Nick tells Summer (who continues to deny she was the one who told Sharon that he cheated) ‘It was Mariah’, she blurts out after Noah joins them in Nick’s office. Giving up on trying to talk sense into her Dad, Summer leaves hoping Noah will have better luck. Nope, Nick refuses to give up on Sharon.

Taking Phyllis into the stations’ hallway, Sharon denies having anything to do with the letter. If I wanted to get to you I’d be more direct. Like throwing me down a flight of stairs? Phyllis quips. Rey steps in as the ladies get in each other’s face. Someone want to tell me what’s going on here? he asks.

On the CL’s patio, Summer sends Billy another text – worried that she hasn’t heard from him. It appears that he’s typing a reply but it vanishes. No, no, no, don’t stop, Summer’s frustrated. She then goes inside to place an order with Tessa and insult Lola and her food truck. Told to back off (by Tessa) Summer warns Lola that Kyle can spot a gold digger a mile away – then marches back to the patio.

Phyllis briefly turns her anger on Rey then leaves Sharon to apologize. Rey sees no reason for Sharon to apologize but looks suspicious as she goes off to supposedly splash water on her face.

On the patio, Tessa’s taunting Summer when Kyle arrives. I’ll let you fill him in, she returns to work. Well? Kyle takes a seat. Summer denies she’s jealous of Lola – she has someone new too. There’s no way you’re seeing Billy, Kyle’s sure. Summer saw a whole lot of Billy – it was amazing; better than anything she’s ever had before. She hasn’t heard from him because he probably doesn’t have access to his phone in rehab. When he’s out, she’s sure Phyllis and everyone else will know that she and Billy are together. Keep telling yourself that, Kyle sneers and leaves.

In the apartment above CL’s, Lola’s tending to dinner when Rey comes home. Yes, she got his text about setting another plate and doesn’t want to talk about what’s bothering her. Sharon then arrives with a housewarming gift; a bamboo plant for good luck. When Rey jokes that it’s working already, Lola looks amused.

Arriving at CL’s, Nick tries to get Noah to stick around a bit longer. When he goes to call to check on Faith, Noah’s left to be served by Tessa (who’s sorry she hurt him) What can she do to fix things? Be good to my sister, Noah replies (which is Tessa’s plan)

In Ashley’s office, Neil has questions about Andrew. He has trouble with professional boundaries, Ashley explains that he’s not accepting that his consulting job is over. No, there’s no need for Neil to ‘set him straight’, she assures.

At the club’s bar, Andrew recognizes Kyle and shakes his hand. Ashley had me do some consulting work but she doesn’t want to continue. It’s a bad decision. I have secret info that could be damaging to Ashley and the company. Maybe you can get Ashley to reconsider, for everyone’s sake. That sounds like a threat, Kyle observes. Did it? Andrew didn’t mean it to. Leaving to take a call, he again asks Kyle to speak to Ashley.

Phyllis is surprised to bump into Andrew at the bar. How long has it been? 25 years. Phyllis is no longer ‘in the field’. Andrew was offered a job running the DNA lab at GCM. The pay isn’t great but he has other irons in the fire. Phyllis doesn’t have a business card on her but no worries; Andrew’s sure they’ll bump into each other again.

Sharon really enjoyed the meal Lola cooked but won’t be able to get her hands on the recipe. Rey then serves dessert as they move to the living room. Lola describes her big brother as a pain growing up but we were lucky to have him. Rey tells the story of Lola almost burning down the house the first time she made dinner for the family and was then banned from the kitchen. This is for trying to stifle my creativity! Lola covers Rey’s shirt with whipped cream. Sharon’s on the sidelines as a whipped cream fight ensues.
