Abby apologizes and admits she just needed someone to dump her anger on (instead of her Father) He’s in control of everything – except this disease. We both know it could go either way. My Dad and I have a complicated relationship. Abby never felt she fit into the Newman family or business – I never measured up to Nick and Vikki. That’s why I left the family business – to define myself. Victor’s the only parent I have left in GC – if I lose him, who am I?

Mike has a peaceful resolution that returns Chloe to Kevin and Bella and guarantees no further attempts on Adam’s life. You’re out of your league, Adam claims. Mike leans in – my mind can go to dark and twisted places too. Don’t let the white hat fool ya. I’ve been wearing it a long time. You don’t want to see me backed into a corner. What you do to my brother, you do to me. Don’t mistake that for weakness. I’ll do whatever it takes to protect him. Adam has no time for empty threats. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, Mike leaves.

Nikki just wants what’s best for Christian. She won’t stay quiet this time (as she did when Victor filed for custody) Adam’s threat is very real. Nick knows he has my support. He needs to know he has yours too.

Iris, what are you doing here? Benny, is that any way to greet a lady? Iris explains that she’s there to see her ex. Of course her hubby knows – we’re working together to out the rat. Boss says he’s been sticking his nose where it don’t belong, Benny adds. Iris has been paying her ex for services not rendered. Let me in so I can give him ‘what for’. I’ll find a way to pay you back, she flirts. When Velma hits Benny over the head, Iris scolds – it’s about time. Let’s get Flynn out of here. Iris gets the key out of Benny’s pocket, unlocks the door and runs in to Flynn. I bet I’m the last person you expected to see. Traci’s surprised when Cane shows up at the house. I need you, he says.

Paul joins a distracted Nikki on the CL’s patio. It never ends with Victor does it? With him suing the GCPD and DA’s office, we probably shouldn’t be seen talking, Paul whines about Victor holding a grudge til the end. He’s a fighter, Nikki then gets all upset when Paul wishes he’d go down for the count. That’s a terrible thing to say! she marches out.

Coming home to find Victor waiting for him, Adam gripes about privacy and assumes Nick went ‘crying to Daddy’. Victor’s not in the mood for Adam’s jokes – with a child’s wellbeing hanging in the balance. It’s wrong to take Christain from the only Father he’s known. Adam thinks that rich – considering Victor once tried to get custody. Maybe I’ll succeed where you failed.

Abby again apologizes – this time for venting about her Daddy issues. Nate can relate – he was lost when Neil died. After Malcolm and Liv divorced, he became the Father he didn’t have. This dedication is important. Abby laughs – she thought it was a way to get close to her. Both seem happy about sharing the evening.

Paul catches up to Nikki in the park. I overreacted, she admits. No – Paul knows he was out of line (but he’s worried about Chris’ getting reelected) He’d never wish Victor ill. When Nikki again reacts, Paul wants to help. This is about Victor isn’t it? Leave this alone. No – there’s nothing wrong with him. He’s fine. I’m fine. Nikki bursts into tears in Paul’s arms. Victor’s not fine. You can’t tell anybody. Is it serious? Paul asks. I’m so sorry, he offers another hug.

Adam knows his Father’s life is all about wins and losses. It’s killing you that I’m about to chalk up a win. Victor wants to do what’s best for Christian. Nick’s a very good Father. Drop the lawsuit. I’m the head of this family, Victor reminds. You wanted to hand NE to Victor 2.0. Nobody gets in my way – including you. I’ll be the Father to my son you never were to me. YOU made the mistake by bringing me back here. Now you have to live with the consequences. Finished? Now you listen to what I have to say, Victor orders.

Cane feels bad about leaning on Traci so much but would she accompany him to the dedication at Society? You bring joy to any room you walk into. A lot of people could use that – including me. It’d mean a lot if you’d come. Be my date? Traci would love to.

Dabbing at her eyes, Nikki tells Paul how reluctant Victor is to tell anyone about his illness. She can’t help but think of Kay; as much a force of nature as Victor. Nobody lives forever, Paul states the obvious. Nikki can’t imagine life without Victor. He’s my whole world, she whimpers. She feels the bond between them breaking. I’m really scared. I’m here, day or night, Paul reassures. You’re as strong as Kay and Victor; capable of surviving the worst.

You’re nothing like me, Victor never blames others; never made others’ lives miserable. He just wants Adam to be a decent human being. I should have left you in Vegas. You relish the role of outsider. So, pack your things and get off my property. Adam will be happy to do so. Victor rarely gives second chances – you’re throwing yours away.
