Rey’s accepted what transpired between him and Sharon (and Adam’s role in their break up) Sharon’s always liked Rey’s integrity. But, she knows Adam – he looked her in the eye and swore he didn’t want his Father dead. Rey lists everything Adam’s done. He still worries Sharon will end up as collateral damage.

Having brought his Mother to the park, Jack wraps his jacket around her shoulders and chit chats about Victor (listing all they had in common) He felt so liberated the day he let all that anger go. Let’s go get some cookies, he leads a silent Dina off.

Adam’s flashbacks now include his Mother. What if she never made you swear not to tell me you were my Father? Could things have been different? he tears up.

Rey reminds Sharon that Adam vowed to take down the Newmans. You still think you can change him – you can’t, Rey looks sad as he leaves.

Vikki’s at the ranch for hugs and brainstorming about how dangerous Adam is. She insists they stick to the original plan. We have too much at stake and have Adam where we want him, she tells her parents and Billy.

Jack manages to sit Dina back down on a bench to bore her with details of his trip to Sedona. An unexamined life is no life at all. I was searching for myself and learned something important – about you (basically, he learned to stop judging his Mother and see things through her eyes) I’m proud of you – proud to be your son – I love you, Jack chokes up. Jackie, Dina finally comes alive – I love you too.

The evidence he planted might be Adam’s undoing, Victor suggests. Vikki believes he’ll botch this. Let’s keep the masquerade going. Victor agrees – let’s see what Adam does now that Vikki’s out on bail.

Pacing and drinking, Adam’s recording a message – to all media; a window into the great man. Victor pitted his children against one another. I challenged him – got my office moved to the men’s room. That one was funny – the rest of the never ending put downs weren’t. Things got mean but we managed to coexist – until …. Adam tosses his phone aside – I just wanted the upper hand. I didn’t want you gone. Or did I?

An emotional Jack comes home to tell Traci about his powerful moment with Dina. He’ll be damned if he’ll let the story of the Abbot family be told in a brief eulogy. And so, he wants to write their story – with Traci’s help.

Now alone at the ranch, Billy assures a worried Vikki that he can manage this – he will stand by her side as she fights Adam.

Sharon drops by the penthouse to interrupt and anguished/evil Adam talking to himself in the mirror. Why are you here? he yanks open the door to ask. Because you need me, is her simple reply.
