Jack advises Nick to find out about Chelsea’s connection to Simon Black before the press does. You need to know. I’m on it, Nick assures. Greeting Adam (let in by the nanny) Jack leaves Nick to withhold Connor’s blanket until Adam answers his questions on Simon Black’s connection to Calvin (and Chelsea) What do you know? And, more importantly, what are you going to do about it?
How is Chelsea connected to Simon Black? Nick repeats. Adam has no time for this – he needs to get back to his son; Connor was held hostage, he reminds. This isn’t about you, or Chelsea – it’s about giving Connor what he needs to recover from this trauma. Now, give me the blanket – you really don’t want to fight with me today. Blanket in hand, he leaves.
Seated in the lobby, Abby answers Chance’s questions. Wanting to stretch her legs (from the corporate world) she owns Society and co-owns TGP. As he’s again appreciating her help taking Simon down, Chance declares Abby a woman of many talents. You have no idea, she’s too busy laughing to notice Nate frowning at her.
In their shared office, Billy scolds Kyle for making a budget call without him. I trust my instincts, Kyle protests. Billy doesn’t. Both men stand up. How is what I did worse than you gambling away Jaboat and embezzling company funds? Kyle asks. Hey, hey, Jack arrives to referee – this is unacceptable.
Theo stops himself – I’m talking too much. No, Ashley’s fascinated – so much so that she makes him a job offer. Come work for me in Paris. Flattered, Theo’s told to take some time to think about it. Paris – wow, he’s still in shock.
Coming home to find Connor asleep across Chelsea’s lap, Adam picks him up and takes him upstairs (with his blanket) Chelsea’s left to look touched.
Nate reintroduces himself to Chance. Oh yes, you were the surgeon when he donated a portion of his liver, Abby recalls. Yes, Nate’s living in GC now. Thanks for stopping by, she sends Nate on his way and offers Chance a room for a few nights. If she’s serious, there is something Abby can do for him….
Opening his laptop to display a steep incline on a sales graph, Kyle boasts that he’s the reason JVC has made Jabot relevant again. He’s enthusiastic and eager, Jack defends his son – but warns him not to et his ambition get the better of him. You have to earn your seat at the table. You two will have to figure this out – together! Jack slams out. And when Billy snarls about cleaning up his mess, Kyle packs up and slams out too.
Connor upstairs asleep, Adam now knows that Chelsea sent them out of town because Simon wanted his dirty money back. You didn’t trust me – and our son suffered because of it. Not even trying to defend herself, Chelsea is the picture of remorse.
Adam knew Chelsea was hiding something – did Simon threaten you? Connor? You didn’t come to me because you were afraid of me – Adam surprises her by apologizing. We must trust each other and work together to give Connor the best life possible. He needs and loves both of us. Promise me we can do that. I promise, Chelsea sniffles as she wipes away tears. Now, go tell Nick everything -he’s worried and he needs answers. Give him the truth. With a meek ‘OK’, Chelsea leaves with her tail between her legs.
Back at TGP, Chance takes Abby up on heer offer of a Martini. He’ll be back after he interviews a witness. Passing Chance on his way out, Lola’s asking about him when Summer can be heard bickering with her Mom. Lola then tells Abby that Summer stopped by the office straight from the airport. It’s good that Kyle has someone on his side at work, right? No big deal.
When Theo arrives at TGP, Summer asks if he’d like to be called Mr Vanderway – or Mergeron – or Abbott?
Back at the house, Ashley tells Jack that she had a fascinating conversation with Theo. Jack’s whines about Kyle and Billy not getting along, then asks what she thinks of Theo. She’s so impressed she offered him a job in Paris. You did what?! Jack sputters.
Summer thinks it a big deal that Theo grew up blue-collar but he’s really blue blood. She got some interesting text messages from some guy who said he needed her – are they from Theo Vanderway or the new guy? The same guy who’s always liked you. Next thing you know, the pair are upstairs hitting the sheets.
Why would you offer Theo a job in Paris? Jack asks. Ashley lists her reasons – he’ll be away from people think he has an agenda or is a disaster in the making. In Paris, Theo will be respected and won’t have to live under a cloud of suspicion the rest of his life’.
Why didn’t you say anything? Having heard the whole story, Nick’s disappointed. She wanted to protect Nick’s dreams and didn’t want her stupid mistakes to hurt him. I was ashamed. Nick would do anything for Chelsea and his boys. How could he go on if something happened to Chelsea last night? He doesn’t care how this will affect his campaign. She does – she knows what this will cost him.
Adam thanks Chance for coming to the penthouse. Both are sorry Connor got caught up in this mess. Adam goes to the door to get rid of whoever’s knocking. Instead, Phyllis walks in – she had a sneaking suspicion she’d find the two men together.
