Water? Something stronger? Jill’s offer declined, she’s impressed that Billy’s putting the kids first (letting them stay at the ranch) And not wanting him to get bored, she has the perfect job for Billy.

Billy protests. Jill persists. She’s starting up a media division at Chancellor Industries – you’d be the perfect person to run it.

Abby isn’t playing games, she wants to dissolve the partnership amicably. You played your cards right and deserve the win. Do we have a deal? Phyllis will need a bit more time. After Phyllis leaves, Abby asks Amanda how she’s doing and reassures her that she’s safe. Asking for an update on Vikki, Amanda will say some more prayers for her. Nate drops by on his way go GCM (to see how Amanda’s doing) I’m OK, she assures (under the circumstances) Vikki’s getting the best care possible, Nate’s optimistic that she’ll recover. Amanda needs to know for sure that she’ll make it.

Tanner and ‘babe’ are so busy chatting about a photo of Tessa posted online, they almost forget about Mariah. I can take a hint, Tanner finally leaves. Why was he half dressed? Mariah asks. Not believing that he spilled food on his shirt, she asks if they’ve slept together. Tessa can’t believe she’s asking that. You haven’t answered the question, Mariah slams the tablet face down to end Tessa’s denials.

As Lyndsay prepares a much needed drink, Theo wastes no time needling Mariah about her video call. My shift just ended – wanna go somewhere else for a drink? Lyndsay interjects.

Jill’s not making an offer, she’s issuing an order. Billy must be president of Chancellor’s media division. He knows this is less a job offer than a lifeline to someone Jill thinks is drowning. This could a a new challenge for you, Jill wants him to make Chancellor relevant again. And she knows Billy’d love to go head to head with Newman.

Time’s up, Abby wants to seal the deal before she goes to the hospital. Phyllis can’t buy Abby’s shares without having them appraised. Plus, there’s tax implications. What’s your hurry? Why are you stalling? Abby counters – she might change her mind if kept waiting. A man then appears with an envelope for Abby – You’ve been served. Oh my goodness what could that be? Phyllis overreacts. Abby’s jaw drops.

In TGP lounge, Nate’s a supportive friend. He knows Amanda’s not fine. But no, he doesn’t think her a fool. No one could have predicted what Ripley would do. Now we know what he’ll do to me and anyone close to me, Amanda wants to go into hiding (to save everyone from danger)

Waiting for Lyndsay, Mariah ignores a call from Tessa. From the bar, Theo watches the pair leave.

At CL’s, Elena thinks it a good thing that the Feds are so close behind Collin – he must be a nervous wreck with them breathing down his neck. Devon thinks that’s the way Amanda must have felt – we should have asked her instead of thinking the worst. He’s happy at the thought of getting some of his inheritance back but what Vikki and Amanda are dealing with reminds him there’s more important things than money.

Abby reads aloud – OMG, I’m being sued by a former guest suffering from PTSD over the Simon Black hostage situation. OMG! Phyllis’ concern is obviously fake. This is the last thing you need. Ever since you and Chelsea ripped this hotel away from me, it’s been cursed; one disaster after another. Instead of selling me the shares, you should just give them to me, Phyllis leaves Abby with her mouth agape.

You can’t leave, you’re building a new life, a new practice here, Nate lists the reasons Amanda should stay in town. You can stay at my place, he offers. That’s sweet but Amanda won’t put anyone else in danger. This hotel’s the safest place for me. So no, she won’t be leaving GC, for now.

Jill stops Billy from leaving (all but demanding he accept her job offer) He can’t take anything else on right now – and needs to be there for the kids. I’m here if you need me, Jill concedes. With a kiss on the cheek, Billy exits.
