Faith is scared to think that she could have had a completely different life, raised as Ashley’s daughter – because of Adam. How could you be friends with him, Mom? Though Nick objects (that’s not fair) Sharon admits she’s asked herself that question. Nick’s sure the story will blow over quickly. Going into the kitchen, Faith receives a bunch of not so nice texts from supposed friends.

Nikki barges into Vikki’s office. Are you happy now? Did you get what you wanted?! Your Father’s being questioned by the police! You didn’t know he was featured in the story – or were you flat out lying?!

Chelsea ends a call with the principal of Connor’s new school. She appreciates his help – and that the school doesn’t allow internet access. We’re in this together – we’re going to be OK, right??? Adam’s not sure. I’m going to tear Billy Abbott apart.

Rey’s at the ranch to ask Victor about his role in what happened in Kansas a few years ago. The caretaker, George, seems to have disappeared. Is that a coincidence? He better still be breathing. He’s an old man now enjoying the fruits of his labour, Victor’s sure. If Rey has more questions – talk to my lawyer.

Vikki didn’t know exactly what was in the article and is sure Newman can withstand this. Nikki doesn’t care about the company – your Father’s being maliciously defamed! Everything written is true – and Vikki doubts Dad can be charged with anything. How do you know? Nikki changes tact – forget about Adam’s crime, what YOU’VE done is worse – destroying the family from within. You’ve just given Adam what he’s always wanted she slams out. Ignoring a call from her Dad, Vikki leaves the office too.

Faith’s off to meet a friend for a study session. I’m fine, she thanks her parents for the good talk and goes outside to wait for her friend’s Mom to pick her up. As Nick reassures Sharon that she just needs some time, Faith gets another mean text – ‘bet your Mom wants to switch you back’.

Phyllis gets a return call from Rick regarding some cash flow issues and taxes. They’re due this quarter!? No, no – this is a huge problem. I just paid Abby off so can’t make the payment!

In the park, Vikki whines that her Father comes off horribly in the story. You said you were OK with it and could handle any blowback, Billy reminds. This is more than Vikki bargained for – a lot more.

As expected, we’ve been served, Amanda updates Lily – by Victor; the first of many, she assumes. Briefly mentioning the revelation that she’s Hilary’s sister, Amanda does indeed have a lot of questions but agrees that today’s not the best day to get into that. She and Lily also agree that Billy keeps things interesting.

Back in the park, Vikki doesn’t feel that Billy betrayed her. Good, because it shouldn’t be surprising that Victor didn’t come off well in the story. You wanted this to happen, he reminds. Vikki admits that’s true – but seeing it in writing made her stomach drop. What have I done to my family? How much worse is it going to get?

Chelsea doesn’t think Adam should go see Billy; you can’t control your emotions. Adam doesn’t want to control his emotions (and slams out)

Reiterating that she doesn’t have any money, Phyllis ends her call as Nick returns to update that Faith’s upset – and Sharon’ has surgery tomorrow. He also worries about what Adam will do now that he has nothing to lose.

Nikki comes home to an empty house. Vikki returns to find her office isn’t empty. Seated behind her desk, Victor’s calls are being ignored so he came in person.

When Billy comes back to ChanceCom, Lily surprises him with good news – the advertisers are happy with all the attention the story’s getting. Don’t blindside your partner again, Lily leaves Billy to beam at the ad ‘metrics’. He’s still smiling at the paperwork when a furious Adam barges in to wipe it off his face.
