Every student who received a scholarship is averaging a B+, Amanda reports. And no, she won’t go with Devon to New York to celebrate that. Her PI has found a lot of irrelevant information but the one thing that sticks out in Amanda’s mind is that Nadine didn’t see Rose pregnant before she showed up with a baby.

Jogging through the park, Elena sees Nate sitting on a bench and fantasizes that he says ‘it wasn’t a mistake – you felt it too’. When he stands to call out to her, Elena sprints away.

At Society, Abby has confidence that Lola will do a great job of catering Dina’s memorial. Feeling so lucky to have Chance, Abby requests a picnic lunch to celebrate his new job. His hours will be rough but we’ll just have to make time for each other. As the sister of a detective, Lola hints that it’s also a dangerous job.

Donut? Bagel? Muffin? Yes, Chance is nervous. Paul wastes no time officially offering him the detective position. He didn’t see anything in the Vegas report that concerns him but there’ll be a probationary period. Chance is eager to start right away.

Abby has another fantasy; she’s hosting a birthday party for Victor. Adam arrives to say that he’s booby-trapped Society with enough explosives to get the party started with a bang and make ‘Newman confetti’ out of the guests soon to be arriving. Armed with a knife, Adam chases Chance outside. Noooooo! Abby’s daydream leaves her gasping for air.

Mariah’s back downstairs to approach Summer – so the runaway bride is back in town.

Rose isn’t your and Hilary’s biological Mother, Devon concludes. Amanda adds that Nadine remembers Rose not being able to handle a baby. She had to teach Rose everything; feeding, diapering etc. But what she lacked in experience she made up for with love. They were very close, Devon remembers how heartbroken Hilary was when Rose died. Amanda’s never experienced that level of love or loss. You

Seconds after Elena comes to the clinic to put her lab coat in her bag, Nate arrives – you can’t avoid me forever. We have to talk. Please, just go! Elena pleads. Nate won’t be pushed away. You know in your heart it’s right. You know what you want – just admit it. Elena shakes her head. It’s not you I want, It’s not you.

Elena’s quietly crying on CL’s patio when Amanda comes along to ask if she’s OK. I’m not the victim – I don’t want or deserve your pity, she sniffles. Amanda doesn’t pity Elena – but she is sorry.

The advertising numbers are through the room, Kyle comes into the boardroom to boast. Jack wants to talk about Summer – he turned down her resignation. Kyle’s sure they can work together and put the company first. But no, he doesn’t think there’s hope for a future with Summer; she sees something between me and Lola that doesn’t exist. Trusting Summer completely, he doesn’t understand why she can’t trust him.

Butt out – it’s none of your business, Summer snarls – you have no idea what’s going on between me and Kyle. You’ll end up with nothing and Kyle will be free, Mariah sees that as a win-win. Left to hear the voices of everyone calling her names, Summer runs out – and into Kyle.

The picnic all set up in the park, Abby types out a message to Chance (second-guessing him taking a dangerous job) Deleting as he arrives, Abby was just stopping herself from making a big mistake. When Chance shows off his badge, Abby’s squeals with delight and is even happier to hear that he’ll be doing a lot of tedious desk work.

Kyle follows Summer inside CL’s. Her mind’s swirling right now – she’s confused and doesn’t know what to do. She wants to believe in Kyle but still has doubts. Wishing she’d have said all that in Chicago, Kyle’s not sure he can put himself in the position of being rejected by Summer again.

Feeling a sense of regret about what happened after she came into their lives, Amanda remembers how protective Elena was of Devon. She also feels that her revelation about Hilary may have had something to do with Elena turning to Nate. Elena can’t blame Amanda – this is on me. I’m still the strong woman who’ll fight for Devon. I love him and want him back. In that case, Amanda does pity Elena – you have no idea what you really want.
