It’s funny that Nate would drop by ChanceCom – Lily was just about to call him. You’re a huge hit. Yeah, but Nate’s been promoted to Chief of Surgery at Memorial. He has to help Lily find his WedMD replacement.

Over lunch at Society, Jack raves about the page-turner he couldn’t put down. It’ll be another bestseller, he’s confident. Seeing an old friend, Traci leaves Billy to tell Jack that he’s working on a deep dive into Ashland’s life. Oh good, that will end well, Jack’s sarcastic.

Tessa, Sharon and Rey listen as Ben reports seeing an older guy (who didn’t have an ‘expectant Dad vibe’) buying LOTS of these bars in a convenience store. No one, especially Rey seems overwhelmed with this ‘lead’. It’s possible they were for Mariah, right?! Abby clearly wants it to mean something.

Having answered all the other questions correctly, Moses is stumped – what happened on August 6th? That was the day you gave me the pressed vinyl copy of the concert – signed by Tiger Lily – who signed with a note saying that Moses is a keeper. A sentiment Faith agrees with.

Lily won’t even try to change Nate’s mind – she’s so proud that he’ll be Chief of Surgery. It’ll be hard to replace your good looks and brilliance all in one package. Nate thinks Elena would be an amazing choice. Initially surprised, Lily quickly takes to the interesting suggestion.

Still exhausted and wired, Elena needs to go upstairs and force herself to sleep before her shift. No, there’s no one who can lighten her workload. I’m just exaggerating, she assures Amanda that she’s fine. See ya.

Rey thinks the ‘lead’ is a bit ‘thin’ – so does Tessa. The man could be a grandfather to be. Ben doesn’t remember anything else except picking up the man’s shopping list when he dropped it. The paper had little storks carrying babies. Was it yellow? Tessa asks – she gave Mariah a notepad like that – she carries it with her everywhere!

Moses’ turn to throw out a date – August 13th. Our first kiss, Faith quickly replies. Moses wants to plan a real date to surprise Faith with; something special. She can’t wait.

Billy wants to examine Ashland’s life – his intuition tells him that there’s an ugly story behind the self-made man. What did I miss? Traci returns to agree with Jack. How would you feel if someone was slinging mud at Lily? No comparison, Billy says as he hurries off.

Now in full detective mode, Rey needs anything Ben can remember, step by step, the name of the convenience store, time, date (maybe they have security footage) Abby’s ecstatic – you’re a hero, she tells Ben. Answering the door, Abby tells Devon that she now has hope.

After a few sips of water, Mariah tells Bowie that it’s time for more ‘aerobics’ But after a few leisurely stretches, she experiences a sudden pain that terrifies her.

Back at the house, Traci’s sorry Jack’s good mood didn’t last – was it Billy or Harrison? Jack is his Father’s son – he’ll throw himself into his work. Jack tells Traci to focus on her new book – and if you’re looking for someone to worry about, Billy’s a better choice.

Billy puts the take-out lunch on Lily’s desk and is about to head back out. Instead, he shares news one of their reporters dug up. In his 20’s, Ashland Locke was involved with a wealthy, older woman (before Tara) Lily’s not sure that’s newsworthy. No, but Billy’s sure there’s more to it.

Rey’s on the phone asking about surveillance footage – get some eyes on the place – be on the lookout for an older man buying pregnancy supplies. While Tessa and Sharon fawn over Ben, Devon tells Abby that Chris hasn’t been able to get her message to Chance yet. Still optimistic, Abby says it will be a dream come true if Mariah and the baby are home safe and sound when Chance comes home. Ben watches in the background. That sure isn’t HIS dream come true.

Mariah doubles over in pain and sits in a rocking chair. These can’t be contractions. It’s too soon!!!
