On the patio, Sally boasts that she’s being compared to Vera Wang and wants to capitalize on the dramatic story. People will eat it up. No, Adam doesn’t care. Don’t take it personally but there’s more to Newman Media than the fashion line, he leaves her to sulk.

At the office, Ashland confides to Vikki that Victor and Adam are planning a move against ChanceCom. They won’t play nice and he assumes she may want to protect Billy for the sake of the kids (the reason he wanted to protect her)

Vikki doesn’t want any details – if Billy wants to play in the big leagues he’ll have to learn to protect his company. You’ve earned my Father’s respect, she’s impressed. Agreeing not to divulge any details, Ashland suggests lunch at Society to celebrate.

At CL’s, Phyllis tells Jack not to push – lest all her problems come spilling out. You asked for it, she takes a seat to reveal that things aren’t getting better with Nick. We crumble under conflict. I’m not being dramatic, she has no idea why it’s all going sideways. How can I work that out?

Running into Victor at Society, Vikki’s fine with him going after ChanceCom and won’t protect Billy.

When Noah visits, Nikki raves about his career in London. She misses his dry humour and hopes he’ll stay in town for a while. Is there a reason you’re here and not in London? Noah admits he’s worried about his Dad being on the outs with his Father and sister.

Victor’s leaving Society when Nick arrives (but will stay for coffee if he wants to chat) No need, Nick’s just there for a quick bite. Yes, Victor knows Noah’s in town and hopes Nick will come to a dinner his Mother’s planning. When Nick declines, Victor urges him to get over what happened in Tuscany. Nick doesn’t appreciate his Father using him then casting him aside in favour of Adam.

Still at CL’s, Jack gives Phyllis relationship advice. Hearing that Nick wanted to talk but she walked out, he doesn’t think her taking time to clear her head a bad idea. You always know how to calm me down, Phyllis smiles.

On the patio, Sally resists the urge to contact Adam. Putting her phone away, she looks inside and shakes her head at the sight of Phyllis with Jack.

At Newman Media, Adam’s on the phone. Yes, Sally’s an asset – we’re happy to have her. I’ll have my assistant set up the next meeting ~click~ Looking at Sally’s contact info, Adam puts his phone away and storms out.

Back at Society, the newlyweds are looking forward to their honeymoon when Ashland gets a call from his oncologist (regarding his test results)

It breaks Victor’s heart that Nick doesn’t feel part of the family. I gave you everything you ever wanted. Nick grumbles about his Father’s lack or awareness as to how his actions affect his children (or him anyway) Victor doesn’t understand – what don’t I see? It’s no use, Nick’s not even angry, he’s exhausted. I’m not even hungry anymore, he leaves.

Billy joins Sally on the patio to ask if she knows anything about the disappearance of Jesse Gaines. Adam and Victor may be involved. Adam’s savvy and dangerous, he warns – protect yourself. Sally’s been warned about Adam – but she’s been warned about Billy too. She can hold her own and make her own decisions thank you very much. Adam arrives to watch with a frown.

Returning to the suite, Phyllis sends Nick a text (‘ready to talk?’) then calls down to order champagne, steak and all the best sellers from the honeymoon package. She’s disappointed when Nick replies to say that he’s staying at the house because Christian’s got a cold.

Ashland updates Vikki that the chemo’s not working. We’ll find a more aggressive drug, something more experimental, Vikki won’t give up – we just have to fight a lot harder now.
