When Lily barges in to demand 5 minutes of Adam’s time, Chloe and Sally are dismissed. What does Lily want? To negotiate a ceasefire. Unfortunately, there’s nothing to negotiate. At Society, Sally and Chloe make a list of ‘swag’ items for the goodie bags and to sell online. Both enjoy working for Newman Media. The one dark cloud is whatever’s going on between Victor and Billy. Chloe wishes they could spin-off the fashion division into its own entity. Sally balks: Adam brings a lot more than money to the table. Chloe gives her a friendly warning; this flirtatious banter you’ve got going on with Adam won’t fly when Chelsea joins the team.
You’re not wrong – Adam’s turned his life around, but at the end of the day he’s still a businessman. As for owing Billy, he can’t change what happened and it will never be enough for Billy. Peeking through the curtains, Gaines reminds Billy that he willingly put himself in enemy territory. I thought our interests dovetailed – if I misread you, I’m gone. We work together on this or not at all. Billy agrees – we take things one step at a time. Now, where’s that letter?
Closing the door to Adam’s office, Nikki relays her troubling conversation with Vikki. No, she’s not protecting Billy – she and Ashland are flying to Peru for an experimental treatment. But now, he’s all riled up about Billy. Ashland wanted to be involved, Adam points out. Yesterday, Nikki believed that Adam had good intentions. This is just business, he insists. Oh please, don’t insult my intelligence, Nikki snaps – Think about the long-term damage this could do to people in the crossfire.
Lily’s home to complain to Billy – So much for taking the high road – Vikki stonewalled me – Adam was as smug as ever – There’s no reasoning with him. She’s now onboard with doing whatever it takes to protect ChanceCom. Billy has the original letter. Yes, Gaines gave it to him. It’s our ace in the hole.
It’s a tumultuous situation and Chris will do everything in her power to keep Nina and Abby away from that building. What if Abby’s right? Nina weeps. The only reason Chloe took Adam’s job offer is because of her best friend Chelsea. If Sally wants this as much as she says she does, she’ll stick with the plan. Message received, Sally claims to be happily unattached. Good – because things are about to get dicey around here – we have to protect our assets, Chloe warns.
Billy strides into Adam’s office to say that he has Gaines hidden away – he also has the proof to bury Ashland Locke and Newman Media. Call off the attack on ChanceCom or I’ll bring you all down.
Devon tells Abby that it would be reckless to go to Spain. We can’t let you put your life at risk. Abby can’t just roll over and accept it. Nina feels the same way. Great – go pack! Abby orders.
