At Jabot, Summer blasts Kyle for lying to her for weeks. It’s complicated, Kyle follows her into Jack’s office to explain himself.
I’m home – hello, anybody here? Ashley’s not happy when Diane appears. She’s about to make an announcement when Jack arrives to welcome his sister home. We’re together again, in every way, Diane finishes where she left off.
You’re sleeping with a scam artist, Ashley snaps. Jack’s sorry she can’t be happy for him/for us. No, he doesn’t want Diane to leave them. OK, I’ll stay for you, she simpers. No, Ashley has no interest in meeting in the middle or building a relationship with Diane – I don’t like you. You’re parading whatever the hell this is under all our noses, she lashes out at Jack.
Knowing Tucker will be furious, Victor suggests they confront him – tell him right before the deal goes down to confuse him. He might think it’s a bluff, Vikki adds. In good old Newman fashion, you and I will pounce, Victor clinks Vikki’s glass.
Tucker and Audra area also clinking glasses – salute. She scoffs at the suggestion that she’s doing undercover work for the Newmans. He wouldn’t be angry – just disappointed if she wasn’t honest with him. So, are you gathering info for the Newmans? They plan to buy your debt to have leverage over you, Audra confides.
When Kyle stands by his decision to work with Victor (as no harm was done to Jabot) Summer’s livid – I BEGGED you not to do this and you did it anyway. What does that say about our marriage?! You completely violated my trust!! (she also didn’t appreciate him comparing her to her Mpther)
Ashley and Jack continue to argue as the object of that argument watches on silently. There’s no more ‘surprises’, Jack’s sure – and ready to move forward with Diane. You’re going to deny me this little bit of happiness? How would you feel I kept falling for Tucker’s BS? Ashley’s embarrassed for Jack. I’ve had enough, he says in a tone that makes Diane’s eyes widen; half fear-half excitement.
Pouring more wine, Tucker’s not surprised to hear that the Newmans are coming after him. How much time do I have? Not much. He appreciates the info but why is Audra telling him this? Are you playing one side against the other to watch the fallout? Audra avoids the question – what are you gonna do about it? she challenges.
Victor moves onto another subject – what’s going on with Johnny and Chelsea? He seems to like his biological Mother and having a brother (Connor) – but, Vikki’s soon annoyed when realizing that her Dad’s not thinking of her family – you want to discuss your family, Adam.
When Jack basically tells Ashley to take her bad attitude and leave, she reminds that it’s her home too. How much will it cost to get you out of this house!? he shouts. When hell freezes over! Ashley slams out. In the background, Diane’s as quiet and timid as a mouse.
