Looking incredibly lonely, Phyllis looks at her phone, in her low-budget motel room. The headline announces plans for her memorial service.

Lauren joins Chris at Society. She’s numb and all cried out. I can’t believe she’s gone. Whatever Chris is about to say is interrupted when Chance calls with the toxicology report – Phyllis was poisoned by strychnine; making her death a homicide! Rejoining Lauren, Chris looks uncomfortable when she wonders why the universe would take her BFF.

Summer accosts Chance on the CL’s patio. You and I are going to expose my Mom’s murderer.

In her office, Vikki’s on the phone offering funding for ‘passion projects’ (Newman has plenty of money to throw around since they won’t be buying McCall) Nick’s come in to work because Summer claims to have the funeral plans under control. He’s puzzled when she implies that she’s eyeing a bigger acquisition than McCall.

Tucker’s at Devon’s penthouse. Phyllis’ death reminds them to make the most of their time – with family. Yes, family – and that’s why Devon made amends with Lily. He will NOT be buying McCall.

Tucker’s hearing nothing but bad news from Devon. He’s staying at CW. Jill’s not taking it public. What’s he supposed to do with McCall? Jill will buy it as long as Tucker’s not part of the deal.

Summer knows it sounds crazy but is convinced that Diane killed her Mom. Come to the funeral – watch her. Find the evidence and make her pay. There’s something you should know, Chance finally manages to get a word in.

Back at Society, Lauren’s emotional outpouring is matched by Christine’s – who struggles to keep it together when admitting that her time with Paul, as special as it was, has come to an end.

At Society, Victor has a temper tantrum about his ungrateful daughter refusing to buy McCall because he’d put Adam at the helm. Smiling sweetly, Nikki loves that he allows Vikki to run Newman without his assistant.

In her office, Vikki giggles when telling Nick all about how she told Dad that if he wanted McCall he’d have to buy it with his own money.
