Have we been fired? Chloe asks. Sally explains that Jill didn’t say ‘no’ but it’s a ‘not right now’. When Adam arrives, Chloe offers some phony optimism and leaves. Adam doesn’t want Sally to dip into her savings. He’s not offering cash, he’s offering a job – working for me.
Agreeing that they should stay out of whatever’s going on between Nick and Victor, Billy suggests a Connor-Johnny get-together. Chloe stops by to announce that Jill’s not going forward with her and Sally. Deciding that she needs a girls night out, Chelsea leaves for her therapy appointment. Chloe’s pleased that Billy’s stepping up.
Nick’s glad that Sally turned Victor down – she’s not for sale. Victor thinks she’s holding out for something more substantial. Nick knows he’d never take a baby from its mother. Victor would if it’s the wrong mother. Sally passed your test – leave her and the baby alone, Nick demands.
Adam lists positions he could hire Sally for at McCall; COO again, in-house design, name your own position – bring Chloe along. Sally knows Victor won’t allow it – he just offered to set me up anywhere in the world if I leave the baby. Adam’s stunned.
Sally doesn’t want Adam to wave a red flag in front of the bull. She had to talk Nick off the ledge – partly because Adam tipped him off to her meeting with Victor. Sally’s no damsel in distress – she fights her own battles.
Back at CL’s, Elena’s off to Memorial. Audra doesn’t think she should give up the podcast just because Vikki and Nate own it. Convincing JT to come do the interview in person would be a real slap in the face to Vikki.
Nate’s a brilliant and charming man. Vikki doesn’t deny that – but this relationship started on bad footing. When Nick arrives to gripe that Dad tried to pay off Sally, Nikki leaves them to complain about their parents. What did I walk in on? Nick asks. Updated that Elena knows about her and Nate, their relationship’s probably over, Nick comments that his sister doesn’t seem to care because she got what she wanted.
Sally knows she’s fighting for two but still doesn’t need Adam’s help. He still wants to lure her to McCall. He’s not trying to fix her problems – McCall needs a lot of work, he leaves her to think it over.
Billy genuinely cares about Billy – he’s not trying to play hero so doesn’t need a pat on the back. Chloe can see that he changed a lot after Delia died and since he’s been with Chelsea. You just might be the one she needs.
In the park, Adam will accept Victor’s offer on these terms. You’ll be a consultant, only when needed. Sally and our daughter are off-limits. Victor chuckles – she went to both my sons to try turn them against their father. He’ll accept Adam’s terms – knowing the time will come when his advice is needed. We have a deal, they shake hands.
Audra understands that Elena needs some time to regroup. Elena warns her to watch her back – Nate has no loyalties and thinks he can do no wrong. Good luck, she leaves. Nate’s lurking by the jukebox, listening.
Vikki takes no pleasure in Elena’s pain but isn’t up for a lecture. Butt out (just like she did when it came to Sally) Sure – but the difference is that Sally no longer works at Newman, thanks to you – and, thanks to you, Nate has a very big part in it. If he won’t be loyal to Elena and his own family, what makes you think he’ll be loyal to you and this company?
Adam announces that he’s offered Sally a job of her choosing. I won’t let you override me on this. Why her? Victor asks. Doesn’t matter – Sally works for McCall or you can find yourself another CEO.
