Phyllis chases Jack through the park – so what if Billy was the one to tip them off. Hearing it came via Natalie, Jack’s less inclined to believe it. He’s trying to protect you, Phyllis insists. Jack knows better – he did it for Phyllis. I’ve got this, he says firmly and marches off.
Travis loudly sharpens pencils at Natalie’s desk until she relays what Billy (and tequila) got out of her. Travis investigated the family against Victor’s orders (which was a step up) You’re kinda screwed, she concludes. Looking very much screwed, Travis sends Vikki a ‘we need to talk’ text.
Billy points out that his children live under the same roof as Travis – trusting him is very much his business. Telling Billy to get to work, Vikki reads Travis’ text and rushes out. When Cane arrives they show each other photos of their kids. We’re both lucky men. Billy wishes he didn’t have to share his with another man.
Marching back to the kitchen with the coffee Hilary rejected, Mariah’s surprised to find Kevin still there (and asks him to please go) This isn’t a place for you to entertain your posse, Hilary remarks. Good morning, Jack bids as he arrives. No it isn’t, Kevin marches out (as Mariah serves her highness)
Meeting Vikki at the park, Travis thinks Billy needs to mind his own business and stay the hell out of his life.
Billy misses getting his kids dressed in the morning and putting them to bed. You only miss it once you don’t get to do it. Billy struggles to stay relevant in his kids’ lives. He promised he’d be there for his kids (unlike his Mom) Cane missed the twins first Halloween play. You can’t be there 24/7 even if happily married. You have to make the most of the time you have, they agree.
Jack schmoozes with Hilary (who complains about Victor threatening to sue them) As she goes to ask Mariah to make Jack coffee, Jack hovers around the stack of mail. No, he doesn’t want to go on camera. He’s there about the foundation (seems Hilary’s missed a few board meetings) Yes, she’s been busy with her new job. When Mariah comes over with Jack’s coffee, Hilary opens the large blue envelope – and the fire alarm goes off.
Vikki thinks that Travis is overreacting – she already knew the info Billy tattled to her. But – you did go behind my Dad’s back when investigating the family. Travis knows business – he made the right call. They then discuss him sleeping with his boss’ wife and her ex sleeping with Phyllis. Travis thinks Vikki’s enabling Billy’s meddling. Vikki will never cut her children’s Father out of their lives.
Billy takes a seat beside Kevin at the club (and also orders a smoothie) They discuss Chloe (who Kevin loves and Billy recently had a chat with) She’s concerned that Bella’s Father might show up at some point to make trouble for you guys, Billy confides. Kevin thanks Billy – do you know anything about Bella’s Father? Not a clue, Billy replies.
As Lily’s showing the kids how to shoot hoops, Cane makes a surprise appearance.
As GC BUZZ evacuates, an annoyed Hilary looks back at Jack (whose hand hovers by the envelope) Coming, he stammers.
Billy’s trying to move forward – repair relationships – be a good Father. You’ve got that covered, Kevin says – and comments on how much Bella looks like Delia. Chloe hasn’t exactly been forthcoming. Sure Kevin’s tempted to hack into birth records and find out who the Father is but he doesn’t want to break Chloe’s trust – and he does want to be a Father to Bella himself. To Fatherhood, they toast.
