Sharon acknowledges she’s lied in the past but has changed. She knew she had to tell Nick about Christian’s paternity even though Phyllis tried to stop her. That’s another thing that doesn’t sit right with Nick (it’s weird that Sharon and Phyllis are friends) Sharon wonders why Phyllis is off the hook (and reminds Nick that he cheated on her with both Phyllis and Grace) Yes, she never throws Nick’s past in his face.
Dr Chasen comes out to say she wouldn’t have booked the appointment if she knew Devon wasn’t aware of it. Confirming that he’s now fully onboard with the insemination, the doctor takes Hilary in for the procedure. Good luck, Devon smiles as he’s left to wait.
Jack and Abby swipe tears as Charlies ends the pre-screening by closing the laptop and asking what they think. Jack wouldn’t change a pixel. He LOVED it; it’s perfect. Abby agrees – Charlie created a masterpiece. Having watched too, Kyle joins in on the standing ovation as Jack thanks Charlie for capturing Dina, as a Mother, a grandmother. He’ll always be grateful. THIS is how I want to remember my Mother. As his Dad hugs Abby, Kyle looks guilty.
Sharon accuses Nick of acting irrationally and taking his frustration and anger (about JT) out on her. Do you really think Vikki would lie to protect JT?! Or that she has any love left in her heart for that man!? Maybe JT threatened her and she’s afraid, Nick vows to keep Vikki and Sharon safe. That’s what you do – ride in on your white horse to rescue people, Sharon loudly mocks Nick – no one needs rescuing – leave the search to the professionals and leave your sister and me alone! Sharon’s done with being made out to be the bad guy (and marches upstairs)
Showing Charlie out, Abby skips off to call her Mom. That leaves Jack to thank Kyle for taking the time to connect with Dina. Kyle feels that getting to know his grandmother has proven to be more meaningful to him than he expected. Jack couldn’t look more proud – it’s important to know where you came from. He hopes to share the same kind of relationship with Kyle that he shared with his Father, John. Kyle hopes for better things in the future too, ‘Dad’.
Hilary comes out to tell Devon that everything went perfectly. In a couple of weeks she’ll know if they’ll hear the news they hope for. Devon insists on driving Hilary home; it’s the least he can do to make things easier. We’re in this together, he says (his hand on the small of Hilary’s back as they exit)
Nick comes back from a walk as Sharon comes down to apologize (but no, he can’t let this go) The more Sharon deflects, the more Nick’s sure she’s hiding something. Sharon admits that keeping this secret is eating her up. She wants Nick so badly. He responds with a passionate kiss.
