Faith jumps off the couch to leap into her Mom’s arms. Assured that she’s OK, Faith is put to bed by the babysitter. Seated beside Dylan (holding Sully) Sharon couldn’t tell Faith about Sage; she adored her. Dylan… I was with her… looking into her eyes, watching her take her last breath. I can still see her, hear her. She looks into Sully’s eyes, then at Dylan.

Neville and Ashley are astonished as they watch Hilary’s announcement online. She repeats what they told her, but takes credit for ‘forcing’ her associates, Dr Simon Neville and Ashley Abbot – they were forced to call her in for an emergency meeting tonight. With so much at stake, HILARY saw the wisdom in cutting losses so they could all learn from this mistake. *I* will take necessary steps moving forward…. Ashley slams the laptop. Both are angry that they’re being blamed. We were fools for thinking she’d handle it any other way.

Hilary joins Jack at the bar to commiserate – she doesn’t get a lot of support either. She can say the sky’s blue and someone will contradict her. We can’t win. People who swear to have our backs don’t. Nobody notices your hard work. They just see the mistakes. Jack knows a thing or two about mistakes. People who have no loyalty, no honour, like Victor and Billy. Hilary’s watched Jack try to keep his family together. You have a friend who admires you.

If Billy really wants to start over, Phyllis suggests he reinvent himself. Edging closer, Billy reminds that Phyllis was the one who taught him that if we want something we have to grab it ourselves. Grab what we want – starting now. Phyllis looks up at him.

And to the tune of All The Shiny Things – Alone at the bar, Vikki weeps quietly. I thought you liked this song, the bartender asks why she’s crying. Without further word, Vikki puts money on the bar and rushes out. Nick exits Sage’s room. You OK? Need a ride home? Paul asks. Nick doesn’t understand who this can happen. We were having coffee this afternoon, talking. Is there anything Paul can do? You were there, at the end? Did she suffer? Did she say anything? Paul arrived after Sage passed – but Sharon was there when he arrived…. I have to tell you, I have to explain, Sharon begins. Dylan cuts her off – he’s just grateful she and Sully are OK. Poor Nick – he doesn’t know what he’d do if he lost her or Sully.

Next: You found Sage. Did she say anything? What were my wife’s last words? Holding Sully, Sharon looks blankly at Nick …. Paul updates – she was initiating an outgoing call. Was it to Nick? Dylan asks. No, it wasn’t …. It was a car accident. Sage is dead, Chelsea breaks the news to Adam.

My Thoughts: OK, this is gonna take a while…”I think that’s Sage in front of us”? So Sharon wasn’t even sure who she was flashing her high beams at. Out of curiosity, I looked up Wisconsin laws on flashing high beams. It’s murky. Here in Ontario, you can’t flash your high beams within 60 meters of the car in front of you. Either way, it would be insane for Sage to pull over for a strange car chasing her down on a relatively desserted stretch of highway. Why wouldn’t she just call Sage? And why doesn’t Sage’s car have auto Bluetooth connection …. Paul didn’t mention who ‘she’ was at GCM so I guess he told Nick over the phone that Sage had been in an accident, then what? Hung up before Nick could ask for details? Surely Paul could have found Nick. It’s not like there was any rush for Nick to get to GCM … It’s easy to determine that Sage was on her phone at the time of (or seconds before) the accident. On review, it looks like her phone might have called out while she was trying to retrieve it. I’m guessing she accidentally called Adam…. I didn’t love the character of Sage, but hope it was her choice to leave and wish the actress well in future endeavors …. Once again, and just as Sharon was starting to show signs of being a solid character, she’s responsible for another ‘accident’. I like to think that seeing Nick’s grief will motivate her to tell him the truth, but – it’s more likely that she’ll yet again keep a secret under the guise of protecting someone else. Dylan saying he doesn’t know what he’d do if he lost her or Sully is a good enough excuse for Sharon .. An accident victim shouldn’t be moved. Sharon probably did more damage. But she didn’t get her outfit dirty … Sweet baby Jesus, no. The only thing worse than Billy hooking up with Phyllis would be Hilary hooking up with Jack. If we thought Neil was old enough to be her Father, Jack is old enough to be her grandfather (handsome as KSJ and PB are at 49 and 62 respectively)… So, it’s 9pm and the clinical trial has been abruptly aborted. How nice that patients who have ‘no other options’ (so are basically as good as dead) will only learn that their very last hope is crushed if they catch it online or on the 11 pm news. Let’s hope someone has the sense to call these poor people so they don’t have to bother getting out of their beds; their death beds at that. And when will Devon be informed? How ludicrous to think that Hilary knows the science behind the treatment? She was in a COMA when it was administered to her. I use L’oreal to dye my hair – I don’t know anything about the science behind it…For all their talk of family first, when was the last time Johnny and Katie saw their parents? Vikki hasn’t left the office in days and her first stop when she does is a bar.
