Victor spotted a sunset clause that might devalue Vikki’s deal. She discussed that with legal – they advised us to go ahead and close the deal. Yes, Vikki has done her homework – her mentor/Dad taught her that the devil is in the details. Nick then arrives with Chelsea (who receives a warm welcome and condolences) You’re the Mother of my grandson, Victor would like a fresh start. Abby ends the silence by introducing Dr Nate Hastings to Chelsea Lawson (is it Lawson?) After Abby and Nate go to the bar, Nikki can’t help but recall the last family dinner Chelsea attended – when we learned you and Nick were engaged.

The boys and I partied a lot (along with various women swept up for the ride) Theo confesses. Surely Lola’s not surprised that Kyle’s no innocent choir boy. We started calling him (Captain) Sparrow when he commandeered Don Don’s yacht with one of his many blonds. Lola got the impression there was much more going on. No, and if Lola wants more details, she’ll have to ask Kyle. Lola back on duty, an eavesdropping Summer chides Theo for lobbing grenades. You didn’t interrupt me so you must have enjoyed it. Summer’s trying to be a better person. Why? We’re a lot of things, saintly ain’t one of em, Theo kisses Summer and demands they go to his room. Sorry – gotta go – I’m booked, Summer flees.

Wearing latex gloves, Kevin lets himself into Adam’s penthouse, removes the envelope from his backpack and hits keys on his phone. Mike appears – what the hell are you doing?

All seated, Victor makes a toast to Nikki; his rock. I love you more than ever. And dear Abby, thanks for creating this elegant restaurant. Both Victor and Nikki are grateful for Dr Nate taking such good care of them. Darling Victoria, even Billy Boy. Arriving late, Summer takes a seat. Not sure what an ‘influencer’ does, Victor’s proud of her. Nicholas – we’ve had Father/son difficulties but I respect your independence and priorities. Fighting for Christian and supporting Chelsea through a hard time. As all raise their glasses, Adam appears (accompanied by Phyllis) Gee Dad, no kind words for me?

What a lovely gathering. Adam assumes his invitation got lost in the mail. You chose to distance yourself by your actions, Victor says. Let’s go to another restaurant, Phyllis whispers. Let’s walk away. Good advice, Nate agrees. Well, look who’s suddenly part of the family, Adam approaches Chelsea. Nick stands to get in his face – time to go.

Kevin can’t believe Mike followed him. This is my mess – I don’t want you involved. Well, I am involved – I’m your brother – tell me exactly what’s going on. Kevin explains that Adam got compromising photos of Judge Sanders. I’m to blackmail him to ensure Adam gets custody of Christian. The good news is, Adam, as usual, underestimated me and gave me a way out. How? Kevin will use these photos against Adam by alerting the cops. Adam goes to jail and Kevin’s finally rid of that bastard. No, it’s NOT brilliant – you haven’t thought any of this through, Mike huffs.

Need help taking out the trash? Billy rounds the table to stand beside Nick. Before Phyllis finally manages to lead Adam off to the bar, the Newmans are told to enjoy this fleeting moment of solidarity – it won’t last. Summer gripes about her Mom. Aside, Billy tells Vikki that Phyllis claims to have her own agenda. Coming over with Chelsea, Nick updates that Phyllis asked Adam to drop the custody case. Vikki doubts that – Phyllis only cares about Phyllis. Who knows what Adam really wants? Chelsea looks nervous. At the bar, Adam rejects the idea of going elsewhere. This night’s still full of possibilities, he says – as Chelsea turns to meet his eyes.

Once Adam’s arrested, what’s to stop him from announcing that Chloe’s alive? And if by some miracle, he winds up in prison, he could still get revenge from behind bars, Mike warns. Kevin’s got it all covered. He’ll move Chloe and Bella to a new location under new ID’s. When Mike threatens to destroy the photos, Kevin says he has copies on his phone (which the brothers wrestle over) They’re gone! they’re too dangerous, Mike huffs – do you trust me? Yes, with my life. Then go – I’ll deal with this, Mike’s left to wait for Adam alone.

Pretty hilarious – watching them try to act like a normal family, Adam gripes about his Dad pitting everyone against him – the pariah. Phyllis suggests they leave but changes her mind when Summer comes over. Adam leaves – good luck. Crashing Newman events with Adam is becoming a habit, Summer comments. Phyllis tears up – you only come to me when you’re sad – when you’re happy you go back to being nasty. I’ll always be your Mom *sniff* Let’s deal with this here and now.
