The Newman family are in the middle of enjoying their perfect dinner when Victor suddenly announces that he’s kept them all long enough – you have a long day’s work ahead of you. Thank you all for coming. Confused, everyone looks around the table at each other.

Recovering quickly, what Victor meant to say is that it’s getting late and they all have a lot of work tomorrow. When Vikki mentions the Randall deal, Victor goes blank – I’m fine, he repeats. Nick quips that he’s ‘out of it’ half the time and has no excuse. As all applaud Abby, she goes to the kitchen to check on dessert.

At the bar, Summer tells her Mom how she can make things right – give Dark Horse back to Dad and break ties with Adam. Phyllis can’t do either of those things. In tears, she whines – I love my job at Dark Horse. Don’t read anything into this relationship with Adam – why are you trying to manipulate me? You taught me, Summer points out. You’re a stellar pupil – stellar. After Summer rejoins the Newmans, Phyllis sadly clip-clops out.

Adam comes home to find Mike with a drink in hand, going over the contents of the envelope Kevin left behind. You and I need to talk, Mike chuckles as he holds out a photo. Not your honour’s best angle. And not yours either – you’re slipping. Adam guesses exactly what Kevin had planned. It was a bad plan and Mike put a stop to it. What do you want? Adam asks.

Lola’s summoned Kyle to CL’s for a serious talk. Something’s been bothering her since the party foisted upon them the other night. She needs to know who Kyle really is (and was) before she can marry him.

Billy rolls over in bed. You OK? Vikki’s still up reading. Did you have a bad dream? No, Billy’s just stressed out covering for Jack. Vikki turns the light out and snuggles in. Billy’s eyes pop open.

Back at Nick’s for wine, Chelsea’s determined to do what’s best for herself and her son (as she always does) You’ve been a great friend – standing up to Adam. Chelsea doesn’t need Nick to fight her battles but it feels good not to be alone. With a quick but gentle kiss, she bids him goodnight. Sleep well. You too. Pausing before going to her room, Chelsea looks back to see Nick sighing at the bar.

You backed my brother into a corner, Mike states to Adam. Kevin’s so desperate he thinks he can get away with something like this. He knows it’s not Kevin that Adam’s after – it’s me. I’m here to make a deal with you, Mike claims.
