At CL’s, Sharon tells Devon that Abby is stuck in the first stage of grief – denial. Devon thinks he has something that will bring Abby some happiness (Dominic)
Returning to their hotel room, Mariah’s on the phone handling some business. She hates leaving Dominic and notices the way Tessa’s looking at her. Well, yeah – that’s because Mariah’s acting like she’s the only one who can take care of Dominic. It breaks Tessa’s heart.
Having eaten something, Abby admits she was hungry. She’ll take the medication Nate prescribed but is sure she’ll be able to sleep. Nate watched Abby fall hard and fast for Chance – that love will always be part of you. You’re talking like he’s gone but we don’t know that, Abby persists. Nate agrees – get some rest. You can’t be gone, Abby’s left to sniffle out loud.
Victor and Ashley thank Nate and show him out. The medication will be delivered soon. Ashley decides to occupy herself by cooking. Victor will watch over Abby, Napping on the couch, she dreams that she’s looking for Chance – and met by a bright white light at the front door.
Crediting Dominic with improving her mood, Sharon’s sure he can do the same for Abby. He’s lucky to have you in his life. Devon feels he’s the lucky one – he’s making up for the time he missed with the baby he and Hilary were having. This is unfair to everyone, he sighs.
Tesse presses some more – do you think you’re the only one who can properly take care of Dominic? Mariah knows other people are qualified to take care of him. But I’m the one who carried him all those months, was locked in that room. Abby’s his Mother but Mariah feels she needs a break right now. Ashley and Nina love their grandson (but they don’t have the connection to Dominic that Mariah does) Tessa’s sure that Dominic won’t be neglected. In her heart, Mariah doesn’t think this is the way it should be.
Abby’s dream now takes her to TGP lobby. She’s making a video (with Chance’s phone, I think) We met here during the hostage crisis – I distracted the bad guy – nodded to you on the security camera – we were in sync. Show me we’re in this together, she pleads.
Sharon tells Devon that it will be hard for Abby to move on. Ideally, the baby might give her a sense of purpose – but a loss like this sometimes makes it hard to get out of bed. She HAS to be there for Dominic, they agree. She’s only at the beginning of what lies ahead for her and her baby, Sharon grimly concludes.
