Abby’s now teleported to Society – where we had our first kiss. Come kiss me now, Chance, she implores.

Now Abby’s in a suite at TGP. We came here after our ice skating date; it was the first time we made love. I skipped work and we laid in bed all day, trading stories about our scars. How could you stay away for so long? You made promises right here – on our wedding day, you told me that I changed you. We talked about having a family. How could you leave me? I know you’ll keep your word. I’ll find you. I’ll help you.

In their room, Tessa knows what Mariah’s thinking – Dominic would rather you take care of him. No – Mariah’s not thinking about what SHE wants or needs – Dominic lost a father he’ll never know and is living in a house full of grief. He’s safe, Tessa replies – he’s loved. Mariah knows that – but this isn’t the life she promised him when they were locked up in that room. Life is unpredictable – you can’t control the future, Tessa says gently. I didn’t protect him, Mariah wails.

Nate enters the coffee shop to tell Devon and Sharon that he’s worried about Abby (listing all the stressful events in her life recently) Devon asks if he should take Dominic home – he’s worried about him absorbing the negativity at the house. Nate knows Dominic will be in good hands. Devon will take Dominic home after they go to the park.

Mariah carried that baby because she thought he’d be raised in a family. Instead, he’s surrounded by grief and loss. I didn’t keep my promise to always protect him. Tessa disagrees – you’ve gone above and beyond. Do you wish he was your son, not Abby’s? Mariah can’t help thinking she should be his Mom. She won’t act on her feelings but you did ask me to be honest. It’s not rational, Mariah knows. She’s incredibly relieved that Tessa didn’t run out screaming. You have the patience of a saint. That’s because I love you, Tessa smiles. I love you too. We’ll work through this together. Instead, Tessa’s dismayed when Mariah gets on her laptop – they really need these numbers.

Abby’s now at the park – where you proposed. Chancellor Park has special meaning for us. She plucks an ornament off a tree. I know you’re here. How could you leave us to go on a dangerous mission? You wouldn’t break my heart like this. I believed in us. I don’t know what to believe now.

Pushing the stroller through the park, Devon pauses to look deeply worried.

As Mariah types away on her laptop, Tessa looks deeply worried about her.

Having her own grief to deal with, Sharon slips into the CL’s kitchen to look at a photo on her phone; a very young, smiling Cassie.

Hearing Dominic gurgle, Abby awakens on the sofa. Devon apologizes – he just woke up when I put him down. Abby picks him up – it’s OK, Mommy’s got you. It’s OK, Shhhh, she cradles and comforts him.
