Joining Noah on the CL’s patio, Mariah’s happy that he accepted Nick’s job offer – it’s a commitment. Things are amazing between her and Tessa – she’s stressed over a situation with her friends.
Devon thanks Chance for being honest – we can come up with a solution that works for everyone. Abby’s having none of it – we’ll talk to you after we talk to Christine. This is a betrayal. Devon wouldn’t be doing this if he didn’t care about her and Chance (as well as Dom) we’ll be in touch, Chance says on his way out.
Running into one another at CL’s, Amanda and Elena chat and joke about the ‘timid’ Imani. Elena’s concerned about Devon – it’s all happening so fast.
When Nate comes across the hall, Devon tells him that Chance and Abby just left. How’d it go? Not well.
Nick takes a seat with Mariah and Noah to say how excited he is about Noah coming to work at New Hope. It’ll be rewarding. Noah can’t wait to get started.
Amanda shares Devon’s concern that Abby will never forgive him. Elena feels badly for all she’s been through. The fear of losing a child is primal; parents start doing things that defy logic. It’s a complicated situation, Amanda looks stressed.
Devon tells Nate that when confronted, Chance admitted he’s struggling. Abby’s furious. Nate understands that Devon only wants to spend time with his biological son.
Now home, Abby blasts Chance for going to confide in the man who’s trying to steal their son. I’m going to check on Dom and Louise – will you be here when I get back? Of course, Chance looks trapped.

Nate suggests Devon give Chance and Abby time to get over the shock. Devon worries they might cut off his access to Dom – my son needs me. This needs to get resolved ASAP. Nate bullies Devon into going for a run with him.
Noah talks about urban gardens and pocket parks – small places for gardens and bee hives. Impressed, Nick will put Noah in touch with some geniuses. When Tessa comes to whisk Mariah away, Noah’s too heartbroken to listen to his Dad’s babbling. Nick notices and nods – he gets it.
Expecting Christine soon, Abby’s sent Louise for a walk with Dom – she doesn’t want to drag the nanny into this custody battle. When Chance says he doesn’t have what Dom needs, Abby fires back – Devon’s praying on your insecurities! You don’t realize what I’m going through, Chance blames himself for not being honest with her about it.
Nate and Devon’s run starts off at CL’s. Coming in with his Dad, Noah already has ideas to help the community through New Hope.
Chance isn’t OK – he’s having nightmares. Abby figured he’d tell her when he’s ready. Chance explains reliving the night of the explosion; the sounds, smells etc. he sees bodies buried under rubble. Abby’s so sorry; it sounds exhausting. We’ll get you help. They pull themselves together when Chris arrives. She’s sorry to hear they’re at odds with Devon and can’t guarantee that their contract will hold up. The Judge will rule in the best interests of the child. Yes, it’s possible Devon could win custody.
