On the patio, it doesn’t take long for Nate’s name to come up – then Imani’s. Amanda reassures Elena – my sister and Nate have little interaction and she’s told Imani that he’s off-limits.

Still at TGP, Imani tells Lily about a contract she’s negotiating. No, she hasn’t run it by Amanda; she tends to be a bit conservative. Lily trusts Amanda implicitly, that’s why she wanted her on the team. Imani looks sheepish.

At the penthouse, Gwen has reservations about the merged company going with a larger marketing firm. Devon has no intention of letting them go – it wouldn’t be the same without you. This is his decision to make. Nate seems to have something to say – but just adds that he looks forward to working with Gwen. After she leaves Devon asks Nate why he didn’t speak up.

Amanda knows that Imani’s brash and flirtatious but she wouldn’t cross the line. If she did, Amanda would rein her in. Elena feels her only competition is Nate’s new job. Amanda’s also in an adjustment phase with Devon (because of Dominic)

Back at CL’s, Ally chats with Kyle and Summer – and then Diane. She declines a ride back to the house when Diane asks her to stay and catch up. Summer’s not impressed.

Phyllis is deeply hurt – what we have is real. Jack still questions why she suddenly took him out of the friend-zone. Phyllis is happy – are you happy? That’s all that matters. We’ve come so far. Don’t give up on us now.

Diane apologizes to Ally for blindsiding her. Ally thinks she was deceptive and self-serving – but is happy she met her family. Diane agrees she used Ally to her advantage.

Sally thinks Adam embodies all the qualities of a good CEO. My Father waves the position around like a bullfighter, Adam grumbles. Sally declares them an unbeatable team – she loves working with Adam. Let’s be patient and go slow ~kiss~

Nate was about to make suggestions but thought better of it – the timing didn’t seem right. Devon appreciates that; he may shoot down Nate’s ideas but he’ll always listen.

Imani gushes to Lily about Nate – there’s something about him that makes you feel like you can trust him with your life. Amanda appears to frown at her.

Did we interrupt something? Kyle and Summer ask. No, Phyllis has to get back to the hotel, unless….. (she turns to Jack) Don’t let me keep you, Jack mutters. After Phyllis hurries out, Summer goes to catch up to her. Kyle’s left to ask his Dad what’s going on.

Gee, what makes you think something happened? Jack’s sure he and Phyllis will work it out (though is clearly frustrated) Kyle’s left to look worried when his Dad excuses himself to answer a call.

Diane and Ally agree that Kyle and Summer make a lovely couple. Harrison’s adorable – he doesn’t know I’m his grandmother so will call me DD. Everything worked out well for you, Ally hopes it was worth it. And if she needs anything, she won’t turn to Diane, she’ll go to the Abbotts.

The Hamilton-Winters-Chancellor team (henceforth abbreviated as HWC) brainstorm launch party ideas at TGP. Devon seems annoyed by Nate’s input and Amanda’s so irritated by Imani fawning over Nate that she takes her sister aside to remind her that Nate’s off-limits. Imani didn’t ask for her opinion.

Phyllis yanks open her door. You thought I was Jack, Summer correctly guesses – the tension between you and Jack was obvious. What’s the story? Summer persists.

Imani’s tired of Amanda’s advice. You may be my sister and boss, but you’re not my conscience – back off, she goes back to sit beside Nate – let me know if there’s anything you need.

No offense but Ally doesn’t trust Diane. You were nice to me in LA, but you were lying. Diane hopes that someday down the road, Ally considers her a friend.

It’ll work itself out, Phyllis insists that nothing’s going on. Summer can see that her Mother’s upset. It’s not a big deal, drop it. No, not until you tell me what’s going on, Summer won’t budge. Something is very wrong, Phyllis admits – I screwed up.
