Encouraged by Jack, Phyllis declares the basket ‘tacky’ but she’s SO tired of fighting. If Kyle and Summer can move on from your betrayal and lies, so can I. Diane’s stunned when Phyllis throws open her arms and hugs her – and so are Kyle and Summer.
On the CL’s patio, Noah tells Ally that he didn’t know he could be this happy with anyone – not having to fight for approval and love. Wait, are you saying we’re too easy? Ally’s alarmed.
Taking her Mom into her office, Summer gives her a hug. Phyllis tears up – she doesn’t trust that Diane’s changed. ‘If I’m right, secrets have a way of coming out – and I won’t have to do one damn thing to make that happen’.
At CL’s, Audra introduces herself to Vikki. She’s impressed by what she’s read about all Newman’s acquisitions.
Showing up in Lily’s office, Chelsea doesn’t need her to leave. She thanks Billy for telling Johnny the truth; it’s best he heard it from you. Oh, and can you give him this baby blankie I bought when I was pregnant? Billy exchanges a dire look with Lily.
As Lily fiddles with the blankie, Billy gently tells Chelsea that Johhny has to make the decision for himself whether he wants to reach out to her or Connor. We’ve had years to process our decisions. My son just found out; he didn’t ask to be part of this. You’re overstepping. Giving the blankie back to Chelsea, Lily adds some words of comfort.
Audra can’t say what type of consulting she’s doing for CW but would love to get together with Vikki for lunch some time. She intends to get to know all the players in town.
At lunchtime, Jack finds Diane and Kyle at Society. Both men are happy with this morning’s events. After Kyle hurries back to the office for a meeting, Jack asks Diane why Phyllis brought up Nikki finding some things out in LA. Is there something you’re not telling us?
Diane relays Victor’s veiled threats about Nikki’s trip to LA. Jack’s been on the receiving end of those before and not to worry; Kyle said Nikki’s in LA to get a dress from the Forresters. Diane’s visibly relieved but has nothing to hide.
Noah just meant ‘we’re comfortable with each other’; he can be himself and not have to worry when the other shoe’s going to drop. Ally agrees and with one more kiss has to get back to work.
Despite being told it’s ‘not a good time’, Chelsea comes into Vikki’s office to thank her. She believes that Johnny will want her in his life. If we all work together maybe we can nudge him in that direction.
When Nate gets home, Elena jumps up to run upstairs. Yes, she’s avoiding him. She can’t have an opinion and she can’t stay quiet – what do you want me to do?
Elena disagrees that Nate has to do ‘this’. You have other choices – leave the company, or stay and learn the ropes – instead of choosing to hurt the people who mean the most to you. Nate has big ideas, strong leadership skills AND the ability to execute. Who will be hurt? he seems baffled. Making a list, it seems to be the last straw for Elena. You’re not the man I fell in love with. I think we need some time apart.
Lily gives Billy a pep talk. You’re the emotional rock of the group. If you want to take a break, from anything, it’s OK.
Vikki’s heard what Chelsea wants (to weasel your way into my son’s life) Johnny’s a child, he doesn’t know what he wants, Chelsea insists. Oh? Now he’s a child? I thought he was old enough to know the truth, none of us will be ‘nudging Johnny along’, Vikki’s about to blow. This is HIS decision to make. I am the only Mother he’s ever known. I will NOT stand for it! Without further word, Chelsea marches out.
In Jack’s office, Summer and Kyle are happpy that their Moms have made peace in time for their vow renewal.
Back at Society, Diane gets a terrifying message. Her mystery texter is in GC and wants to meet her. Giving Jack a quick goodbye, she runs out with her doggy bag.
My Thoughts: Possible blooper alert; When Phyllis reads her text message, it appears to be from ‘Diane’? .. Kyle and Summer are just arriving at work and Ally’s already on her coffee break? …. Pace yourself Noah. Things are ‘easy’ because you’ve only been dating Ally for 5 minutes. Give it time – that other shoe will drop, most likely in the form of a stiletto wearing woman with a British accent …. Summer and Phyllis are both wearing pleather skirts! How exciting! I know I have a box of pleather in the attic just waiting to come back in style. I just wish they’d sat down in the furniture they matched … All this talk of nothing coming between Kyle and Summer before their vow renewal is a sure sign that things are about to blow up between their Mothers…. Nate’s really spinning out of control. His leadership skills in the business world are unproven. Worse, they’re non-existent. Elena should dump him off wherever Imani lives (probably TGP) and find someone else (who isn’t Devon) … I’m actually interested to see where this goes. Will Devon lose his fortune? Will Lily’s fondling of the baby blankie remind her that she has kids too? Maybe Vikki and/or Billy should be with Johnny, instead of telling everyone how worried they are about him .. Someone should probably move that giant basked off the receptionists desk before she comes back. Oh wait, since Carol left some 30 years ago, Jack hasn’t had an executive assistant (except for that brief period when Gloria guarded Jack’s office like a junkyard dog.
