Busy reading paperwork as she walks into her office, Vikki’s startled when Victor speaks out from behind her desk. We have unfinished business to discus, and this time you won’t walk out on me, he scolds.

Hours later, Kyle and Audra are still enjoying cocktails at the jazz lounge. She’ll buy the next round if he agrees to discuss a more personal topic (than the best burgers in town)

Ashley comes downs the GCAC staircase to read an alert on her phone. Jabot announces that Diane Jenkins has been named Jabot’s new chief talent officer. ‘My God, you really did it, Jackie’, she gasps.

Jack and Diane are about to go out and celebrate her promotion when Billy marches into the living room to confront Jack. Why am I reading this news online? Did you consult with anyone?

Pouring them both a drink, Vikki correctly assumes her father wants to discuss Nick. My poor, sweet niece was almost being blown up, she only wants what’s best for Nick. Though not thoroughly convinced, Victor now wants to talk about Nate.

Billy thought maybe someone hacked into Jabot’s system to cause corporate upheaval – or did Jack just detonate a bomb that’ll cause family war? When Diane doesn’t see the threat, Billy reminds her of their family meeting. I’m CEO, Jack reminds. As co-CEO, Billy wishes he’d talked to him before promoting his fiance to a C-suite position. Jack suggests Diane go get them a table at the club for dinner. Billy suggests she order an appetizer – this might take longer than Jack thinks. After she leaves, Billy demands Jack explain himself.

Continuing to flirt, Audra mocks Kyle’s past wild-side. Did you break into your parents’ liquor cabinet? No – he broke into the bar of the richest man in NY and had an affair with his wife. Audra pretends to be shocked – there might be hope for you after all. They clink glasses.

Vikki denies that Nate influenced her decision to put Nick on leave – he opposed it. Victor’s been around too long to have the wool pulled over his eyes. Vikki trusts Nate implicitly – can’t you trust me?

Billy’s not mad that he was kept out of the loop. How will this look to Ashley, Abby, the rest of the board and Jabot’s employees. You’ve backed us into a corner – we go along with your whim or damage Jabot. Jack hired Billy without hiring other candidates. I’m an Abbott. Diane will be too soon, Jack declares it ‘end of story’. No, it’s not, Billy now sees that Ashley wasn’t overreacting.

Everything’s in place, Ashley’s definitely pulling the trigger. She ends her call when Diane comes through the revolving door. She heard the news – online, where she likes to get all her family company updates. Everything’s coming together for you, huh Diane?
